“Songs & Stories for Maureen’s Haven is about community – community artists and musicians shining a spotlight on community issues,” explained Southampton Cultural Center Board Member Sarah Faux, who is curating Songs and Stories.
Southampton Cultural Center (SCC) is looking for East End musicians, actors and dancers interested in showing off their talent during Songs and Stories for Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach. The family-friendly showcase is scheduled for Saturday, June 27th from 2 to 5 p.m., at SCC’s Levitas Center for the Arts.
“By sharing their artistry, these performers are saying ‘we care about the homeless in our community,'” said Faux. “The Southampton Cultural Center is excited to provide a venue to that gives our local talent a chance to support the important mission of Maureen’s Haven.”
The production supports Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach Program, an organization that provides shelter, meals, and training to homeless adults and families across the North Fork and South Fork.
All acts should be inspired by the photographs of David Benthal and Dan Bower, which illustrate themes of Maureen’s Haven. Submissions are due Monday, June 1st, and should be 3 to 8 minutes long.
