Center Stage Bringing The “Boys Of Broadway” To The Hamptons

It will be a Father’s Day weekend to remember with three performances of Darren Ottati: The Boys of Broadway, presented by Center Stage at Southampton Cultural Center. The delightful trio of shows will serve as the launch of the local theatre troupe’s 10th season and will feature Darren Otatti as well as David Michael Cress, Tom Rosante, Doug Sabo and Jack Seabury

“It just seems right to celebrate Father’s Day and kick-off this season with ballads and balladeers,” said Michael Disher, veteran Center Stage director and choreographer. “Darren and his guests will also remind us that we have so much to look forward to in the coming season – drama, comedy, nostalgia, music, and fantasy.”

Throughout the past ten years, Center Stage has brought hit after hit to Southampton Cultural Center, including Promises, Promises, The Money Shot, God of Carnage, It’s a Wonderful Life, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s, South Pacific, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Other People’s Money, 50 Million Frenchmen, Cabaret, The Laramie Project, and so many more.

“And you know what? It’s all for you – our audiences and supporters,” Disher noted. “You are a very vibrant thread in our creative tapestry here. So, enjoy tonight, our tenth season overture and the camaraderie that is Center Stage.”

For Center Stage’s latest masterpiece, Ottati will lead a quarter of tenors, baritones and basses in this benefit concert that will highlight Broadway’s most treasured male musical numbers. This show will feature beloved songs from Beauty and the Beast, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, West Side Story, South Pacific, Les Misérables and many more.

“As we embark upon our tenth season and year here in Southampton, we keep searching for new and better ways to showcase our many local resources. And there is no finer example than Darren Ottati. A friend, gentleman and very fine performer, Darren is a great example of our cultural richness,” noted Disher. “Center Stage has always been about community and celebrating our local talents here. It is our pride and honor to promote all that is artistically excellent in our villages – and providing excellent entertainment for all ages and all of our many audience members.”

Darren Ottati: The Boys of Broadway can be seen on Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17 at 7:30 p.m., as well as on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Light refreshments and beverages will be served at all three performances.
