Inda Eaton Taking The Stage In Support Of Project MOST During Upcoming Songwriters Share

The Fifth Annual Songwriters Share Concert Series will continue with the exceptional Inda Eaton on Friday, February 1 at the Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse in Bridgehampton.

“This is such a great venue to come hear and be a part of the music of Inda Eaton – her perceptions of the world around her come shining through her music as she weaves funny and interesting stories in between her tunes,” Nancy Remkus, Songwriters Share Founder, noted. “This is entertainment on so many levels as you are surrounded by her talent, her warmth and her sense of humor.”

During Songwriters Share, headliners showcase their amazing talents, fascinate the audience with tales of how their songs came to be, and support a wonderful local charity that they selected.

“This is sure to be an uplifting night of music-fun, engaging and original. And this is the series that gives back tot he community,” Remkus added. “Each evening is unique and flavored with a true feeling of community.”

Eaton was born in California, and raised in Arizona and Wyoming. After spending many years traveling the globe, the musician eventually settled in East Hampton, and it was her Hamptons home where she recorded her latest album, Shelter in Place.

“The Songwriter’s Share evening is one of my favorite nights of the year,” Eaton explained. “It’s intimate, authentic and the perfect answer to winter.”

Eaton, who has been described as “a fusion of John Mellencamp and Melissa Etheridge,” offers a unique merging of genres – ranging from Americana to country to classic rock & roll, with a side of comedy.

Her latest album offers insight about life on the road. “As a performer you’re always on the road to somewhere. Often times the venues we play at, there’s a new venue all the time. You’re never quite comfortable and so you’re taking shelter in every venue,” Eaton told us in a previous interview about the album. “All that travel, which is exhilarating, is definitely not the comfort of let’s say home. I think Shelter in Place, one of the aspects is a tension between the road and home. In a way, every time we do a show or every time we’re gone, we are sheltering in place because we’re making a home wherever we are.”

As Songwriters Share’s motto is it’s a “series that gives back to the community,” Eaton has selected Project MOST to share the proceeds from the evening with.

“I can’t say enough good things about Project MOST,” Eaton reflected. “It’s an honor to help out. They have given so much to our neighborhood and community.”

Project MOST, which was founded in 2000 under the umbrella of East Hampton Day Care, offers essential after school care.

“Project MOST is thrilled to be a part of the 2019 Songwriters share concert with the talented Inda Eaton. Inda has and continues to be a strong supporter of Project MOST,” Rebecca Morgan Taylor, Project MOST Executive Director, said. “Events like this one allow us to continue to serve our students and their working families with after school enrichment programs that inspire and engage.”

Since its inception, the non-profit organization has impacted nearly 6,000 local elementary school students from the Springs Public School and John M. Marshall Elementary School in East Hampton, offering a variety of enriching programming and also academic assistance programs.

Admission to the Songwriter’s Share concert is $20 and $15 for seniors and students. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. and a complimentary reception will follow.
