LTV Hosting Back To Back Programming Open To The Public

For the first time ever, LTV is inviting the public to attend a live taping of East End Underground, LTV’s landmark original-music show highlighting local talent.

The taping will take place on Friday, January 24 and feature Funkin’ A and The Kenny Harris Project.

“East End Underground was my first production at LTV a few years ago,” noted LTV’s Executive Director, Michael Clark, “so to revive it now, with a live audience, is very exciting and has been well received by the local community.”

Funkin’A, an original horn-driven jam band that hails from Long Island, features Kyle Fitzpatrick (guitar and vocals), Moe Tompkins (trombone and vocals), Damien Pagan (keys and vocals), Rodney Harris (drums and vocals), Johnnie Luca (bass and vocals), and John Kelly (sax and vocals). The band plays funk, but with some unique twists. They’ve toured across New York State and played at many music festivals throughout the years.

Led by Kenny Harris, an East End bassist and vocalist who has showcased his talents worldwide, The Kenny Harris Project amuses audiences with its extraordinary style of groove and original compositions. Harris has toured and recorded with national artists, spanning several genres from Folk to Rock to Soul to R&B to Jazz.

EHM radio personality Harry Wareing will host the evening, which begins at 7 p.m.

The following evening, LTV will host What’s Your Story? On Saturday, January 25, East Enders will divulge personal, true stories that encompass the theme “Fear, Loathing and Desire” – told in the sharer’s chosen format, which could be word, song, or video. This will mark the debut of what will become an ongoing series for LTV, with each session exploring a different topic.

For the inaugural What’s Your Story?, featured storytellers will include Joy Behar, Dell Cullum, Bridget LeRoy, Patrick Christiano, Bryan Downey, Telly, Alfredo Merat, and Andrew Visconti.

Those interested in recounting a momentous moment may visit LTV early to sign up for one of three available spots that will be selected on the day of the event by lottery. The readings will commence at 4 p.m.

“Our community is rich in storytellers, and we are fortunate to have such unique voices bring their talent and tales to LTV — where we can share, and connect creatively,” noted Creative Director, Angela LaGreca, who will host.

Admission to the East End Underground taping and What’s Your Story? is a $10 donation (per event) to LTV, the East End’s premiere public access television station, a not-for-profit 501 (c3).
