The Hamptons Festival of Music (TH•FM) will present Viennese Voices on April 23, a special benefit concert designed as an intimate prelude to the orchestra’s Fifth Anniversary MainStage Season. The program highlights the Viennese lineage that shaped the symphony — a tradition audiences will experience on a grand scale this summer.
A Chamber Prelude to a Symphonic Season
“Vienna was the laboratory of the symphony,” said Michael Palmer, Artistic Director of The Hamptons Festival of Music. “Before these works filled great concert halls, their language was forged in smaller rooms — in conversation, in experimentation, in intimacy. Viennese Voices allows audiences to hear the spirit of Haydn, Beethoven, and Schubert up close, before it expands to orchestral scale.”
By pairing chamber repertoire with the symphonic masterworks featured in the upcoming MainStage Season, TH•FM continues its commitment to presenting thoughtfully curated programming that reveals the interconnectedness of musical history. The April 23 concert serves not only as an artistic bridge, but also as a celebration of the Festival’s Fifth Anniversary season — a milestone marking five years of growing cultural impact on the East End.
Supporting 500 East End Students
Viennese Voices is also a benefit concert supporting TH•FM’s expanding educational outreach initiatives. Proceeds from the evening will help fund live, in-school performances and interactive programming reaching 500 students across the East End. Through artist visits, instrument demonstrations, and direct engagement with young audiences, the Festival seeks to cultivate the next generation of listeners and arts advocates.
“Just as Vienna nurtured generations of composers,” Palmer added, “we are committed to nurturing the next generation of listeners here at home.”
