“Multi-tasking is a mother’s domain,” Tahlia Miller smiles knowingly. In the time I spent with Lisa Fox and Tahlia Miller, now The Miller Fox Team, you can see how busy—but focused—they are. Both mothers who raised their families in the Hamptons and veteran real estate agents at Saunders & Associates—they certainly stay busy. 

 

Rental and sale listings, open houses, working with prospective builders, launching the new Miller Fox Team not to mention appearing on the Happening in the Hamptons Podcast and this interview. Still, Lisa and Tahlia know how to make you feel like you’re the most important person in their world. 

 

In anticipation of their rebranding and the upcoming spring business season, I had the opportunity to speak with Tahlia and Lisa about their new journey, the legacy they uphold, and what the future holds for the Miller-Fox Team.

 

A Fresh Identity for a Time-Honored Mission

As the Hamptons’ landscape evolves, so too must real estate agents adapt to find success. The Miller-Fox Team’s rebranding is a reflection of this evolution, blending the timeless values of trust and integrity with innovative marketing strategies and a fresh aesthetic that appeals to today’s discerning clients. Lisa notes, “Obviously, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes, but what is most important to our clients and customers, time and again, remains: Always being available for our clients and customers. All year, on the phone, by email, zoom, or in person—we make the time.“

 

Covered in the Hamptons: The Miller-Fox Mantra

The Miller Fox Team stands by its mantra: “Covered in the Hamptons.” Underscored by its combined years of success in the Hamptons’ prestigious real estate market, this phrase encapsulates its comprehensive approach to service with a personal touch. For years, the team has built a stellar reputation among a broad network of clients, including prominent builders and developers. “Working with a fully-staffed, local marketing team at Saunders & Associates allows us to fully focus on our clients and customers,” adds Tahlia.

Congratulations on the launch of your rebranded team. What inspired the new identity of the Miller-Fox Team, and how does it reflect your values and vision?

 

“This is more of a re-focus than a re-brand. we were refining our attention, anchoring ourselves firmly between tradition and innovation. Our new identity isn’t about leaving our roots behind but rather emphasizing our core values of honesty, hard work, and staying at the forefront of real estate trends.”  

 

“We know what has worked for so many years—honesty, hard work, and open houses—that is our DNA. With the Miller Fox Team, our focus is to highlight and lean into the exciting new trends emerging in real estate marketing.”

 

Has there emerged a prevailing trend or motif in the real estate market this year?

 

“This year, the clear trend is the irreplaceable value of a trusted real estate professional,” says Lisa. “Despite buyers being more informed, the flood of information has made our role even more crucial. We’re here to ensure our clients are making decisions based on the most accurate, up-to-date information and to maintain transparency and honesty throughout the process.”

 

What types of properties or features are currently attracting the most interest from buyers?

 

“Buyers’ preferences are as varied as the Hamptons landscape. While we start with a wishlist, we’re seeing a consistent demand for homes that offer first-floor living and dual laundry rooms. It’s about understanding that each client’s dream home is unique. “

 

With the ongoing discussions about inventory shortages, how are you managing to meet the needs of your clients?

 

“In light of inventory shortages, our approach is proactive. With the Hamptons market seeing a lot of new constructions and a premium on square footage, our advice is to act decisively. We’re guiding our clients through this competitive landscape with an eye on both present opportunities and future shifts in interest rates.”

 

With spring being a pivotal time for real estate in the Hamptons, what trends are you anticipating this season? 

 

“Spring heralds the peak rental season in the Hamptons. It’s an ideal time for clients to ‘test drive’ different home features and neighborhoods. With a range of options from quaint cottages to estate-sized escapes, now is when to secure that dream Hamptons home.”

 

For clients looking to navigate the Hamptons real estate market, either as sellers or buyers, what advice can you offer them for this upcoming season?

 

“Our advice for this season? Stay adaptable. The Hamptons market requires both flexibility and a broad perspective. We leverage our experience to help our clients navigate these waters, ensuring they’re open to the full spectrum of possibilities.”

 

Your mentor, Barbara Weinman, played a significant role in your career. How does her legacy influence the Miller-Fox Team today, and how do you plan to continue her legacy in your work?

 

“Barbara Weinman was more than a mentor; she was a trailblazer whose legacy deeply influences the Miller-Fox Team today. From her humble beginnings to becoming a respected name in real estate, she taught us the value of patience, knowledge, and tenacity. We aim to honor her legacy by embodying these qualities and continuing to earn the trust of our community.”

With help from our friends at Kidd Squid Brewery, we sampled a variety of options at their tasting room in Sag Harbor. Here are our top picks.⁠

You can’t go anywhere in the Hamptons without grabbing a glass of Wolffer’s iconic Rosé. Don’t fret! You can still enjoy the iconic, vibrant, fruity taste with their non-alcoholic version. ⁠

Tasting notes: It’s no surprise that it is a favorite in The Hamptons. The lack of alcohol doesn’t affect the rich, elegant rose, peach, and apple notes. This is a delicious, fresh, sparkling rosé.⁠

Is a locally owned company that produces crispy non-alcoholic beers that perfectly mirror their alcoholic counterparts. I tried their Easy Down Lager, and it was perfect!⁠

Tasting notes: It pours out like a beer with a nice frothy top layer. It is crisp and smooth and reminds me of a Sapporo.⁠

Another locally owned company that produces non-alcoholic drinks crafted by award-winning mixologists. I fell in love with their credo, “Life should be sipped slowly.” I tried their Chili Margarita and loved the sparkling citrus notes with a bit of a kick. It’s infused with adaptogens and nootropics, which are thought to reduce stress, elevate your mood, and overall just deliver that perfect chill for any social setting.⁠

Tasting notes: Crisp and tangy, with very strong citrus notes, this reminded me of kombucha. It was very refreshing.⁠

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce that Montauk Point State Park will host a series of hikes to observe wintering seals.   • Pitch Your Peers (PYP) Hamptons Chapter, a philanthropy initiative, awarded two local non-profits at its 3rd annual Pitch Day on October 25th at Scoville Hall in Amagansett. Philanthropic women from the community are the driving force behind PYP The Hamptons. They identify and champion local non-profits that qualify for its annual collective grant. The grant pool for 2025 was $60,000. ⁠

PYP Members identified and pitched local organizations to be considered for their grant on Pitch Day on October 25th. Members voted, and this year’s first-place award of $50,000 was presented to The Retreat, while a second-place award of $10,000 was presented to Share the Harvest Farm. ⁠

What core mission drives the farm today, and how has that mission evolved since the beginning?⁠

Amanda & Katie: We met in 2008 while completing a farming apprenticeship at Quail Hill Farm where we both discovered our shared love of farming. By that July, we were already dreaming up ways to continue farming together in Amagansett. When we founded Amber Waves Farm, our vision was to build something greater than ourselves—something that would outlive us. Our original idea, the “Amagansett Wheat Project,” grew out of a daydream to create a “pizza farm,” and our name, Amber Waves, pays homage to grain production—a line from the song “America the Beautiful”. From the beginning, we chose to be a nonprofit because our mission—to teach and connect people through food and farming—has always been at the heart of what we do.⁠
