
On Saturday, December 11th, the Parrish is offering a day of engaging and entertaining programs for families, beginning at 11 am with a printmaking workshop, followed by screenings of award-winning Spanish-language children’s films. In addition, families can enjoy a self-guided scavenger hunt in the new exhibition Pictures in Pictures, and get up close with the extra-small works of art in the exhibition XS. Those interested in digging deeper into other exhibitions may take a docent-led tour at 2pm.The Café is open, and the Shop will feature its holiday gift table.

FAMILY PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP
11 AM to 12:15 PM
In this workshop, free with Museum admission, families will explore sponge and stencil printing techniques with teaching artist Andrea Cote. Each household will have its own workspace in the Lichtenstein theater to allow for ample social distancing, and materials will be provided.

¡Viva Kid Flicks! – as part of the New York International Children’s Film Festival— celebrates the best Spanish-language live-action and animated short films from Argenta, Colombia, Mexico, and Cuba. Featuring many premieres, the films include the live action Lessons Learnt by the Sea (in Spanish with English subtitles), which follows an 11-year-old surfer in Havana who learns about resilience from the ultimate teacher, the sea. My Brother Luca, an animated film, tells the story of an imaginative little girl who discovers that her brother might have superpowers, and is determined to make sure everyone sees him as she does.
SCAVENGER HUNT: PICTURES IN PICTURES
Children are encouraged to look closely and carefully at the works in this exhibition that feature paintings and drawings as part of the subject matter. The 22 works, dating from 1845 to 2007, introduce children to a variety of art periods, styles, and subject matter. Families can pick up the Family Gallery Guide at Visitor Services.
GUIDED TOUR: Exhibitions

Parrish docents provide a brief introductory talk and a walkthrough of new exhibitions. The tour is free with Museum admission.
