The Soho Sessions brought its much-celebrated show to the Hamptons at the iconic Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett this week, and it was a smash hit with great performances from Marcus King and Celisse all in a sober-supportive environment. Known for unforgettable, private live music experiences in New York City, The Soho Sessions: Hamptons Edition opened its doors to anyone interested with tickets available.
Headlined by nationally-known artists Marcus King and Celisse, the special sober-supportive night will be perfect for all music lovers—with a full-service mocktail bar alongside the Talkhouse’s regular drink selection! All were welcome, sober or otherwise, to support a crucial cause and enjoy some great music.
The Soho Sessions has partnered with the 1 Million Strong initiative, which seeks to support 1 million people in recovery through The Phoenix, a sober-active community. The initiative has been making waves in the music industry, bringing sober-supportive spaces to various music events and festivals nationwide.
We’re excited to see The Stephen Talkhouse in tune with such a worthy cause and working to foster an inviting environment for people in recovery. Known for many things, The Stephen Talkhouse’s renowned history of hosting iconic musical performers makes it the perfect venue for The Soho Sessions: Hamptons Edition, bringing two great acts in Marcus King and Celisse.
Marcus King is a soulful vocalist and accomplished guitarist known for electrifying performances and insightful songwriting. His debut solo album “El Dorado” topped the Americana radio charts and earned considerable critical praise. Celisse is a multi-talented artist making waves in the music industry with her unique blend of soul, rock, and folk influences. She’s been at some of the biggest festivals in the country and collaborated with Alicia Keys and Dave Matthews Band!
Did I mention the bar offered mocktails and a wide array of delicious alcohol-free drinks? I have to say – they’re really very good! Who knew? Everyone appreciated the special offerings, especially people who usually avoid bars.
The Soho Sessions are co-produced by Hamptons local, Greg Williamson, alongside global events producer Nicole Rechter. Together, they co-founded RWE Partners and are part of the team behind the annual Love Rocks NYC concerts.
Greg has a special connection to the Talkhouse and the vital cause. Greg shares, “We are excited to take The Soho Sessions on the road for a gig at the storied Stephen Talkhouse — a venue where I’ve seen many amazing shows, having grown up right around the corner on Hand Lane.”
Events like this are essential, especially in shifting the conversation surrounding struggles with drugs and alcohol. It’s courageous and inspiring to see how freely Greg shares his own experience in recovery. “Supporting The Phoenix and the 1 Million Strong initiative is important to Nicole and me in our mission to produce events that support and raise awareness for vital causes. As someone [with] my own journey with addiction, this is a cause that is personally very important to me.”
I’m so glad there is an event at a bar that someone sober could enjoy. Having this event at a bar is part of the mission to promote fun and the love of music by supporting those who don’t drink. Greg continues, “Too many people in this country are affected by mental health and addiction, particularly in the music industry. This is what The Soho Sessions is all about — helping out the community through the power of music and creating a safe and unique space for all who love to have a good time and listen to great music!“
