Animal Rescue Fund Of The Hamptons To Host Annual Stroll To The Sea Dog Walk Over The Holiday Weekend

Calling all four-legged residents of the Hamptons! Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF) invites all to join them at their annual Stroll to the Sea on Saturday, October 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Now in its 26th year, this event is a beloved staple of the Hamptons fall season that is guaranteed to be a fun, family outing with the feel of a country fair, as pre and post-walk festivities will be held at the historic Mulford Farm in the heart of East Hampton Village. Stroll to the Sea intends to promote responsible dog ownership and awareness of ARF.

The two-mile walk to the ocean and the back will begin and end at Mulford Farm. All four legged registrants will receive free nail clippings and their owners will get an event tee shirt and tote bag. Treats from Starbucks, Dreesen’s Famous Donuts, Goldberg’s Bagels, and apples and cider from the Milk Pail will be provided as well. This year’s tee shirt is designed by Isaac Mizrahi, once again, who has been an avid supporter of the organization for many years.

“It’s one of the best days of the year! And this year we are super excited to have Chaser, one of our presenting sponsors, providing the event t-shirt with Isaac Mizrahi’s original artwork for free with pre-registration, while supplies last,” said Jamie Berger, Director of Marketing & Communications at ARF.

The morning will also feature contests including “Dog/Companion Look Alike,” “The Pooch Who Can Smooch,” and “Stupid Pet Tricks.” A dog agility course will be set up for all to try out an enjoy, as well as a photo booth for pictures with participants and their dogs. A silent and Lucky #’s auction with many exciting products, services and experiences for owners and pets will be offered.

The prizes for top fundraisers include: two-night stay with breakfast at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Orlando, a summer share for the 2020 season at Amber Waves Farm in Amagansett, and a $500 shopping spree at Chaser. The top child prize (under 13) is a bicycle from the Sag Harbor Cycle Company.

Everyone who collects $250 or more in pledges receives a special gift, courtesy of Isaac Mizrahi. Those who register at the $150 level or higher are invited to attend the exclusive Kick-Off Cocktail Party on Friday, Friday, October 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. hosted by Ralph Bassett and Matt McNally at their Bridgehampton home.

Dog walkers are encouraged to pre-register at give.arfhamptons.org for $30 or $40 on site. Children and under 13 are free. Stop by ARF Adoption Center in East Hampton or the ARF Thrift Shop in Sagaponak to register in person.

The rain date for Stroll to the Sea is Sunday, October 13, 8 a.m. registration, 9 a.m. walk.
