2019 Late Summer And Fall Hamptons And East End Festivals

The end of summer brings festival season to the East End.

Cooperage Inn’s 21st Annual Fall Festival (2218 Sound Avenue, Calverton, www.cooperageinn.com) will last over a month. On Saturdays and Sundays from September 7 through October 27, attendees will enjoy seasonal fare, pumpkin painting, live music, pony rides, face painting, a huge hay playground, and other family friendly happenings from 12 to 6 p.m.

Harbes Family Farm (5698 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, harbesfamilyfarm.com) is hosting an Apple Festival – complete with two fun-filled days of apple activities for the entire family – on Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be apple cider donut eating contests, apple rolling, apple picking, and more.

Garlic lovers will adore one of the first extravaganzas of the season. Garden of Eve Organic Farm & Market (4558 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, gardenofevefarm.com) will host the 16th Annual Long Island Garlic Festival on Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15. The “all-day celebration of the wonders of ‘Garliciana'” will revolve around garlic inspired foods, as well as music, garlic-themed contests, and more. The Festival launches at 10 a.m. and culminates at 6 p.m. on both days.

The Hampton Library (2478 Main Street, Bridgehampton, www.myhamptonlibrary.org) is hosting East End AuthorFest on Saturday, September 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The afternoon will include a distinguished panel of published East End Authors, including John Aldridge & Anthony Sosinski, Christie Leigh Babirad, Sande Berger, Jay Goldberg, Jeffrey Sussman, Sybille van Kempen, and Alan Schnurman & Eric Feil, who will take part in a stimulating conversation.

The East End Seaport Museum’s 30th annual East End Maritime Festival (www.eastendseaport.org) will take place Friday, September 20 through Sunday, September 22. The festivities begin with the Land & Sea Gala benefit – taking place on Friday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Greenport Yacht & Shipbuilding Co. The weekend-long celebration of local maritime heritage continues on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Southamptonfest (southamptonfest.live) – “a modern harvest of fun with music, dance, food, history, art and much more” – will run Friday, September 20 through Sunday, September 22. The festivities begin with the Southampton Rotary Club Cocktail Party at Agawam Park on Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Southamptonfest continues on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. – offering exciting happenings like the Annual Best of Southampton Chowder Contest, Taste of the East End, a Cornhole Tournament, a KidsZone and much, much more.

The Southampton Historical Museum’s Harvest Fair at Rogers Mansion (17 Meeting House Lane, Southampton, www.southamptonhistory.org), which is part of Southamptonfest programming, will take place on Saturday, September 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The afternoon will pay homage to life during the 19th century in Southampton, with a variety of activities like outdoor crafts, tool making demonstrations, Shinnecock Tribe dancing, farm animals, a thrift shop an 1850 wedding re-enactment, and more.

The 4th Annual Long Island Fresh Hop Festival will take place at Jamesport Farm Brewery (5873 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, lifreshhopfestival.com) on Saturday, September 21 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Attendees will enjoy a variety of locally brewed beers made with locally grown and harvested hops, many brewed in small batches for this event only.

The Sag Harbor American Music Festival (sagharbormusic.org) will present two completely complimentary days of music throughout Sag Harbor on Saturday, September 28, starting at 10 a.m. and Sunday, September 29, starting at 12 p.m. The Music Festival will also host three ticketed shows: Queen of Soul – A Musical Tribute to Aretha Franklin at Bay Street Theater on Thursday, September 26, An Evening with Jane Monheit at Old Whalers Church on Friday, September 27, and The Scofflaws at Bay Street Theater on Saturday, September 28.

The 9th annual San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons (www.sangennarofeastofthehamptons.com) will return to Good Ground Road in Hampton Bays on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29. The Feast – which “offers a fun mixture of new activities as well as old favorites that are sure to entertain the entire family” – will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Harbes Family Farm will host a Pumpkin Festival at their Barnyard Pumpkin Patch (715 Sound Avenue, Mattituck, harbesfamilyfarm.com) on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29, from10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The two-day event will feature plenty of pumpkins, of course, as well as food, sips, and live music.

The North Fork TV Festival (www.northfork.tv) will pay tribute to independent scripted television during its fourth iteration on Friday, October 4 and Saturday, October 5. The weekend will bring exclusive pilot screenings, panel discussions, parties, and Emmy Award, Golden Globe Award and Tony Award winner Kelsey Grammer will be presented the Canopy Award by previous honoree Chris Noth, while Golden Globe nominee Constance Wu will be honored with The Ambassador of the Arts Award.

The Friends of The Big Duck, a non-profit organization, is holding a Fall Festival/Craft Fair at The Big Duck (1012 Flanders Road, Flanders, bigduck.org) on Saturday, October 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be pumpkins, crafts, and other seasonal fun. The rain date is October 6.

The 27th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival (hamptonsfilmfest.org) will take place Thursday, October 10 through Monday, October 14. HIFF will kick-off with Destin Daniel Cretton’s Just Mercy, starring Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Foxx, and Brie Larson.

The 38th Fall Festival, presented by the Montauk Chamber of Commerce, (www.montaukchamber.com) will take place on the Village Green on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13 – with the highly anticipated Clam Chowder Contest taking place on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Festival will include live music, local beers and wine, Oktoberfest fare, the Montauk Farmers’ Market, a cash catch, and more. The Festival will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

The Riverhead Country Fair (riverheadcountryfair.com) will take place at the Peconic River Front on Sunday, October 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Celebrating Riverhead’s agricultural heritage, the Fair will showcase the works of artists, as well as offer agricultural and homemaking displays and competitions, and welcome authors, entertainers, and local merchants. The afternoon will also include food, amusement rides, pony rides, business expositions and displays, and more.

The East Hampton Chamber of Commerce’s East Hampton Fall Festival will return to Herrick Park (67 Newtown Lane, East Hampton, www.easthamptonchamber.com) on Saturday, October 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be local artists and non-profits, food vendors, live music and entertainment, a family fun zone, and more.

Sylvester Manor is hosting its Harvest Festival at Windmill Field Farm (21 Manwaring Road, Shelter Island, www.sylvestermanor.org) on Saturday, October 26, from 12 to 3 p.m. The celebration of the harvest will feature hayrides, music, games, arts & crafts, food, local craft beer, a pie-baking contest, the chance to participate in the fall harvest, and more.
