Cindi Sansone-Braff is a Long Island born and raised award-winning playwright. Proudly, I admit she is also my wife. Cindi is producing and co-directing another one of her plays – this time at the historic Hudson Guild Theater in NYC. She began her playwriting while studying Theater at the University of Connecticut, receiving a BFA with Honor in Playwriting and Directing in 1975.
Angel’s Mice and Men is a full-length, one-act, romantic comedy that takes place on Long Island during the summer of 1992. Angel Ventura, or the Widow Ventura, as her sister, Gina, called her, had the whole month of July off from motherhood and teaching. Angel always believed true love only struck once, but then a divine conspiracy of heaven and earth brought her a second shot at love. When a devastating storm wreaks havoc on her world, she has to work a miracle to keep this new love alive.
What’s noteworthy in this play and production is that it touches the authentic soul of Long Island life as only a life-long Long Islander can bring to the stage.
Angel’s Men and Men stars TracyLynn Conner (Bridges of Madison County, The Addams Family), Emmy-award winning actor, Ben Jorgensen (All My Children), Diane Pedroza (Asia Panorama), and Jordan Howell, a graduate of Circle in the Square Theatre School.
Two-years ago Cindi produced the first of her collection of plays, Beethoven’s Promethean Concerto in C Minor WoO, The Man, The Myth, The Music,” at the BACCA Arts Center in Lindenhurst to thunderous applause and wonderful reviews.
Angel’s Mice and Men will be produced at the historic Hudson Guild Theater in NYC as part of NY Summerfest. It can be seen on Tuesday, July 30th at 9 p.m., Wednesday, July 31st at 6:15 p.m. and Saturday, August 3rd at 4 p.m.
