Colin Jost And The Wallflowers Headlining C.U. OUT East Benefit

The Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is presenting C.U. OUT East, a truly unforgettable evening at Guild Hall on Saturday, July 27, which will not only feature comedy by SNL‘s Colin Jost, but it’ll also include an intimate concert headlined by The Wallflowers. Jason Suran, one of the most sought after mentalists, will emcee the event.

“We are thrilled to be hosting our first benefit concert in the Hamptons,” Craig Friedman, Co-Chairman Celiac Disease Council at the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University and event organizer, shared. “We thought that giving our supporters the opportunity to see the Wallflowers in concert in a wonderful, intimate setting like Guild Hall would be really special.”

The evening will begin with a VIP cocktail reception, held at an undisclosed location, featuring bespoke cocktails and locally sourced, gourmet, gluten-free hors d’oeuvres.

“Having Colin Jost perform stand-up in front of a receptive Hamptons crowd during his break from SNL is going to be fantastic,” Friedman noted. “We are striving to put on the best night of entertainment of the Hamptons summer season and the beneficiary of these efforts will be the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University and patients worldwide affected by celiac disease.”

For the past six years, Jost has served as co-anchor of SNL‘s Weekend Update, alongside fellow cast member Michael Che. He’s also one of the show’s head writers. The Staten Island native has taken home four Writers Guild Awards, a Peabody Award and has been nominated for several Emmy Awards for his writing on SNL. He also penned and starred in the Paramount/Netflix film Staten Island Summer, which was inspired by his days as a lifeguard.

Vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Jakob Dylan founded The Wallflowers, an American rock band, in 1989. The band has released several albums, including The Wallflowers, Bringing Down the Horse, Breach, Red Letter Days, Rebel, Sweetheart, and Glad All Over. In 1997, The Wallflowers earned a Grammy award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for One Headlight.

In addition to C.U. OUT East, The Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University Medical Center is also hosting an online auction that will include exceptional items like a round of Golf at Sebonack Golf Club, a meet and greet with Colin Jost, high speed driving at a private race track, a guitar signed by The Wallflowers, a red carpet experience at an upcoming movie premiere, a dinner at Eleven Madison Park in Manhattan, suite access and on-field credentials for NY Mets batting practice at Citi Field, and more exclusive experiences.

Proceeds from the benefit will support the Celiac Disease Center’s innovative research, patient care and advocacy, outreach, and education. The Center’s mission is “to deliver the highest-quality care, access to the latest therapies, and innovative research from an experienced, compassionate, and multi-disciplinary team.”

Tickets to C.U. OUT East start at $400. Doors open at 8:15 p.m. and the curtain rises at 8:45 p.m.
