The Choral Society of the Hamptons is presenting a duo of special shows fêting Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Entitled Mozart in Salzburg, both performances will be on Saturday, June 29, with the first at 5 p.m. and another at 7:30 p.m. Concerts will take place at the Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church (2429 Montauk Highway).
Since its founding by Charlotte Rogers Smith in 1946, the Choral Society has been known for bringing high-quality music and musicians to the East End. The chosen members of the choir have the invaluable opportunity to work with professional conductors, orchestras, accompanists and soloists.
Ran by the Choral Society’s musical director and conductor Mark Mangini, the two concerts will feature Mozart’s incredible music including, a solo Vesperae, Solennes de Confessore, and Veni Sancte Spiritus.
Three pieces will showcase solo quartets of choristers, along with the talented Chelsea Shepard, a soprano soloist. Additionally, the chorus will be joined by the South Fork Chamber Orchestra to perform Mozart’s Divertimento for Strings.
Tickets can be purchases in advance for $30 and $35 at the door, while youth tickets will cost $10 in advance and $15 at the door. For preferred seating, tickets cost $75.
Furthermore, the Choral Society is planning ahead for the holidays. On December 8, 2019, the Choral Society is proud to present its annual winter concert at the Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church. So, mark your calendars early to bring in the holiday season with the Hamptons’ Choral Society.
