Life@Nite: Where To Celebrate The Summer Solstice And Hedge Club Launch With Summer House‘s Hannah Berner And Disco Fries

Summer is officially here! Here’s where to spend the Summer Solstice (Friday, June 21) and ensuing weekend.

Montauk:

The Montauk Beach House (55 South Elmwood Avenue, Montauk, thembh.com), along with Roman Fine Arts and Art Matic, will fête artist Lizzie Gill, whose solo exhibition, Summer Solstice, is currently on view at The MBH. The Friday evening Artist Reception will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. There will also be tunes from Jettykoon from 5 to 8 p.m., followed by the launch of Afro Funk Fridays with DJ Mickey Perez from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday will bring an Allyoos Braid Bar Poolside Pop Up, as well as a Crème de la Mer Poolside Pop Up with The Shop at Montauk Beach House curated by Tarin Thomas. A Solstice Pool Party, hosted by Milagro, will launch at 1 p.m. and feature Milagro giveaways, activations – including polaroid’s, flash tattoos, and a succulent table, as well as specialty cocktails. On Sunday, the poolside pop up will showcase The Make, while the end of the week pool party will be held from 12 to 6 p.m.

Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa (290 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk, www.gurneysmontauk.com) will kick-off Friday with a set from DJ Nicole Leone at the Firepit from 6 to 9 p.m., followed by DJ Dexter Love from 9 p.m. to close. Saturday will commence with Dhundee at the Beach Club from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m., and there will be a performance by Bria Lee at the Firepit from 2 to 6 p.m. The Rakiem Walker Project will perform at the Firepit from 6 to 9 p.m., and to close out the night, DJ Kasey Berry is spinning at the Firepit from 9 p.m. to close. On Sunday, DJ Spinosa will bring the beats to the Beach Club from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m., followed by a performance by Empire Sound from 6 to 9 p.m.

Dine for The Retreat, an evening of curated dining with wine pairings, will be held at Gurney’s Star Island Resort & Marina (32 Star Island Road, Montauk, www.gurneysresorts.com) on Friday from 6 to 10:30 p.m. The evening will feature Macari wine pairings with a custom menu designed by Dane Sayles, Corporate Executive Chef, Gurney’s Resorts – all in support of The Retreat. Admission is $175 and tickets must be purchased in advance at www.eventbrite.com.

Lynn Blue Band will provide the tunes at Muse at the End (41 South Euclid Avenue, Montauk, www.museattheend.com) on Friday from 7 to 10 p.m.

Sole East (90 2nd House Road, Montauk, ) will have poolside DJ sets on Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m., as well as live music during Sunday brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Navy Beach (16 Navy Road, Montauk,
www.navybeach.com) is hosting the Seventh Annual Navy SEAL Foundation Fundraiser on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. There will be music from The Waylan Brothers, cocktails, snacks, a silent auction, and more. Admission is $50 for adults, $25 for veterans, and free for children under 16 (at the door).

The Surf Lodge (183 Edgemere Street, Montauk, thesurflodge.com) will have a set from Lykke Li on Saturday and Bea Miller on Sunday.

Swallow East (474 West Lake Drive, Montauk, www.swalloweastrestaurant.com) will present concerts featuring The Realm on Saturday from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Aqua Cherry on Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Napauege:

The Clam Bar at Napeague (2025 Montauk Highway, Amagansett, www.clambarhamptons.com) will have live music from Jack Marshall on Wednesday, beginning at 5 p.m.

Amagansett:

Hump day (Wednesday) at Stephen Talkhouse (161 Main Street, Amagansett, stephentalkhouse.com) will feature the beloved Karaoke with Helen “The Diva” McGuire at 10 p.m. Thursday launches with Roses Grove Band at 8 pm. and Request Line Band at 10 p.m. On Friday, it’s The Realm at 8 p.m. and Hello Brooklyn at 11 p.m. Saturday starts with Black & Sparrow at 7 p.m. and then it’s time for the annual Saved by the 90’s Party! with the Bayside Tigers at 11 p.m. On Sunday, join Evan Sherman & Friends – featuring Ku-umba Frank Lacy – for a benefit show in support of the Bridgehampton Child Development Center at 8 p.m. Reggae Night with Project Vibe follows at 10 p.m. As per usual, Monday means it’s time for Outrageous Open Mic Night at 10 p.m. Tuesday will showcase Born&Raised at 8 p.m. and Industry Night with DJ Snoop at 10 p.m.

Indian Wells Tavern (117 Main Street, Amagansett, www.indianwellstavern.com) is hosting a Summer Solstice Party on Friday from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., with beats from DJ James Ryan.

East Hampton:

The Clubhouse (174 Daniel’s Hole Road, East Hampton, www.ehitclubhouse.com) will have live music from The Rum Hill Rockers on Friday, Kevin Russell Kaye (trio) on Saturday, and a sunset set on Sunday from the Hoodoo Loungers.

Sagaponack:

Wolffer Tasting Room (139 Sagg Road, Sagaponack) will have Garett & Tamara as part of Twilight Thursdays – while sunset sets at the Wolffer Wine Stand (3312 Montauk Highway, Sagaponack, 631-537-5106, www.wolffer.com) will feature Woody Boley on Friday and John Divello on Saturday.

Townline BBQ’s (3593 Townline Road, Sagaponack, www.townlinebbq.com) Bands, Brews and BBQ on Friday will feature Out East from 6 to 9 p.m.

Sag Harbor:

The Ellen Hermanson Foundation (ellenhermanson.org) and Keyes Art (53 Main Street, Sag Harbor) are hosting a Summer Solstice Party on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. The evening will feature wine and light bites, as well as artwork by Bill Claps, Nathan Joseph, Liz Barber Leventhal, John MacWhinnie, Mary Jo McConnell and Tammy Smith, and a portion of the art sales from the evening will benefit The Ellen Hermanson Foundation.

Water Mill:

The Gipsy Kings are back at Calissa (1020 Montauk Highway, Water Mill, www.calissahamptons.com) on Saturday from 8 to 10 p.m.

Southampton:

As per usual, Thursday at Union Cantina (40 Bowden Square, Southampton, www.unioncantina.net) will bring the Jazz Jam Session at 7 p.m. Evan Kremin & friends is headlining on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., while John Schmitt Dou will take the stage on Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m.

Southampton Social Club (256 Elm Street, Southampton, www.southamptonsocialclub.com) will welcome back DJ Loki on Thursday. DJ MFusco is spinning on Friday, while Saturday will showcase beats from DJ Lomo.

Hedge Club (125 Tuckahoe Lane, Southampton, hedgeclubsh.com) will celebrate its grand opening with a party hosted by Sirius XM’s Astra On The Air, with a special guest DJ set by Hannah Berner, from Bravo’s hit show Summer House, on Friday night. Disco Fries will also bring the beats this weekend.

AM Southampton (136 Main Street, Southampton, www.amsouthampton.com) will have the return of DJ DXVID JXMES, who’s back for another set on Saturday.

DJ Tech Pat’s summer residency continues at Brooklyn Chop House Southampton at The Capri Hotel (281 County Road 39A, Southampton, www.brooklynchophouse.com) on Saturday night.

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce that Montauk Point State Park will host a series of hikes to observe wintering seals.   • Pitch Your Peers (PYP) Hamptons Chapter, a philanthropy initiative, awarded two local non-profits at its 3rd annual Pitch Day on October 25th at Scoville Hall in Amagansett. Philanthropic women from the community are the driving force behind PYP The Hamptons. They identify and champion local non-profits that qualify for its annual collective grant. The grant pool for 2025 was $60,000. ⁠

PYP Members identified and pitched local organizations to be considered for their grant on Pitch Day on October 25th. Members voted, and this year’s first-place award of $50,000 was presented to The Retreat, while a second-place award of $10,000 was presented to Share the Harvest Farm. ⁠

What core mission drives the farm today, and how has that mission evolved since the beginning?⁠

Amanda & Katie: We met in 2008 while completing a farming apprenticeship at Quail Hill Farm where we both discovered our shared love of farming. By that July, we were already dreaming up ways to continue farming together in Amagansett. When we founded Amber Waves Farm, our vision was to build something greater than ourselves—something that would outlive us. Our original idea, the “Amagansett Wheat Project,” grew out of a daydream to create a “pizza farm,” and our name, Amber Waves, pays homage to grain production—a line from the song “America the Beautiful”. From the beginning, we chose to be a nonprofit because our mission—to teach and connect people through food and farming—has always been at the heart of what we do.⁠
