The Valpo Surf Project (VSP) will host its first ever Hamptons fundraising benefit on Monday, August 13. The event will be held at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett from 5 to 7 p.m.
“Attendees will enjoy a nice evening of drinks on the patio of a classic Amagansett music venue with a silent auction and raffle featuring items from local surfboard shapers, artists, and businesses,” noted Abby McLagan, Events Coordinator, Valpo Surf Project.
The silent auction will boast a variety of items including art, photography, surfboards and other assorted local items – with silent auction donors including Grain Surfboards, Hamptons Surf Company, Mikey DeTemple, Matt Clark, 6 Pack Sales, Edwina Lucas, Southampton Publick House, Montauk Brewing Company, and many more.

Valpo Surf Project is a youth mentorship organization dedicated to helping children affected by violent crimes, drug abuse or chronic unemployment in the poorest of neighborhoods in Valparaiso, Chile. Through surfing, as well as tutoring and environmental stewardship, the organization moves to motivate and educate students.
In eight years, VSP has worked with over 600 students through other community organizations, schools, and a juvenile detention and rehab center run by Chile’s youth services department.
“All proceeds from the event will directly support the education, mentorship, and development of our 164 at-risk students in Chile,” McLagan added.
