Any artist or art lover knows that inspiration is not seasonal, so it’s a good thing we can count events and activities all year at the Pollack-Krasner House and Study Center to keep your creativity flowing. They have lots of exciting opportunities to learn and explore new artistic skills, plus there is even a virtual reality app available!
Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) is regarded as the undisputed leader of the Abstract Expressionist movement. In 1945, Pollock married fellow artist Lee Krasner (1908-1984) and moved from New York City to Long Island’s East End. With a loan from art dealer Peggy Guggenheim, they purchased a small homestead on 1.25 acres overlooking Accabonac Creek in Springs, East Hampton.

DOUBLE TAKE

Look again! Learn how modern artists Dali, Picasso, Magritte, and others create ambiguous images that play with our perception and can be seen in multiple ways. Then create a Surrealist collage filled with “double images.” Supplies: magazines, scissors, glue, and a surface for your artwork. Or pencil and paper for drawing.
DRIP PAINTING ALUMNUS with Christopher Lucore

As a child, artist Christopher Lucore attended our family drip painting workshop with his parents. His early artistic encouragement has emerged in a successful career in the arts. Following a virtual tour of the barn studio with Joyce, Christopher, who owns The Lucore Art, a gallery in Montauk, will present his work.
