The Backyard Restaurant at Solé East Resort will continue its Montauk Summer Series with a special visit from Michael Symon, presented in collaboration with Wine Awesomeness. The Iron Chef and restauranteur will be featured in Michael Symon’s Playing with Fire BBQ featuring Grindstone Donuts on Sunday, August 5.

“I love it out here and I’m excited to team up with Wine Awesomeness and Solé East for such a fun event,” Symon shared.
Symon, who’s had a longtime passion for barbecuing and live-fire cooking, will showcase a variety of recipes featured at his Cleveland restaurant Mabel’s BBQ – like Spicy Grilled Shrimp Toast with Avocado, Mabel’s Brisket, Grilled Skirt Steak Tacos with Pickled Red Onions, and Beer Can Chicken. The grill master will also serve up some of his go-tos from his latest cookbook.
“We’ll be making a few of my favorite dishes from my new cookbook, Playing With Fire, which is all about live-fire cooking — perfect for a backyard BBQ out East!” Symon noted.
For those that have a sweet tooth, the meal’s end will certainly not disappoint. “My son Kyle is also bringing donuts from his Sag Harbor shop, Grindstone, for a sweet post-BBQ treat,” Symon added.

In addition to the prix fixe menu, attendees will also enjoy wine and beer pairings.
Admission to Michael Symon’s Playing with Fire BBQ is $75, which includes a complimentary copy. of Playing With Fire. The event will take place from 3 to 6 p.m.
