Welcome to the monthly Tarotscope series by Diane Ferraro of Tarot Tauk. Diane has randomly pulled a Tarot card for each zodiacal sign, blending hints of astrology and divination guidance from the Tarot to create a personalized outlook for the Pisces season (Feb. 18 – March 19 2023). You are encouraged to read your Tarotscope for your sun sign, moon sign and rising sign to get a full breadth of insight for your unique experience. If you don’t know your moon or rising sign, reading the Tarotscope for your sun sign will certainly suffice. If you’d like to learn more about your natal chart, feel free to contact Diane and request a consultation. May the cards bring you joy, and clarity and help you to feel supported and seen.

Aries: March 20 – April 19

Queen of Cups

My oh my, Aries. Your dance card is quite full with Queen energy these days. You sashayed with the Queen of Swords in Aquarius season and you’re back on the floor with the Lady of the Water in Pisces season. How fitting, to share the stage with such an emotional partner. What? Did I hit a nerve? Step on an already tender toe? Or is it just that you’re fed up with the sensitivity that surrounds you these days? You’re tired of people pushing your buttons because, per usual, you’d rather focus on getting things done just in time for your upcoming birthday season and all the exciting announcements you’re preparing to make. You’re the baby of the zodiac, ruler of the first astrological house, and the essence of Aries is akin to the first announcement that a baby makes out of the womb: an unabashed cry that says “I’m here and I want the world to know about it.” Your fiery spirit has a tendency to want to rush through the 12th house energy of Pisces season with a “Let’s get on with it, already” attitude, or should I say, aptitude. After all, your Pisces neighbor just to the North of you in the astrological wheel couldn’t be more different. The Pisces archetype is boundaryless, mystical and surreal. You, feisty Aries, are practically the exact opposite. When you’re in balance, you’re driven, determined and self-assured: a true testament to a healthy ego and self reliance. Queen energy echoes this: self-sufficient, self-aware and harmonious. She embodies a world unto herself, a thriving ecosystem, a safe haven. This queen coming through for you during Pisces season invites you to remember that partners, friends and neighbors have needs, too. Venus will be in your sign from February 20 – March 16, which is a profound invitation to pay close attention to your relationships. Ready to tango?

Taurus: April 20 – May 20

Nine of Swords

What’s been troubling you, Taurus? Nine of Swords invites you to deck check those monsters lurking under the bed (or in unopened emails and envelopes) and face what you’ve been avoiding. Jim Henson taught us that we can have muppets or monsters, and you get to choose whether you want to inherently know the fuzzy apparitions that plague you or close your eyes in the hopes they will just go away. I don’t much subscribe to “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.” I’m more of the ilk: When life hands you lemons, get to know those lemons. I dole out stoicism like circus peanuts thanks to my Saturn rulership as a crabby ‘ole Capricorn (you’re welcome). This is friendly fire coming from me – your fellow earth sign – as you, my friend, are second only to Capricorns as stoic creatures. Taurean stoicism is different: your ruling planet is Venus, the archetype of sensuality, security and wealth. Your heady endurance comes from a sensual place, displayed by the full embodiment of what it means to stick with something. You’re the last to leave, my stubborn ally, and that goes for fun parties on a school night as well as relationships that have outlived their purpose, jobs that no longer satisfy your needs and areas of residence that hold nostalgic value but have outgrown their borders. Quite relevant as your ruling planet Venus will be in the sign of Aries from February 20 – March 16: an ideal time to make sure your relationships truly benefit you. Nine of Swords invites you to peek through the curtain of your fingers and dare  look at the signs and signals before you that beckon you toward mental freedom. We create our own nightmares by making more out of the shadows than we need to.

Gemini: May 21 – June 20

The Wheel

What comes around goes around, Gemini, and you happen to be at the top of the pops. The Wheel reminds us that what we put out there comes back to us. A Major Arcana card in the Tarot, it’s a not-at-all subtle reminder to be aware of our thoughts, emotions and actions, especially when bearing others in mind, because it will boomerang tenfold. You’re in a great place, likely experiencing boone after boone and not by sheer luck, either, although you might feel like you’re on an unabashed winning streak. It’s a good thing you’re pinnacle-high as the upcoming astrological weather is lining you up to coast as long as you’re game to front load by peddling your tootsies off. Mars, the ‘ole battle-ax, will enter your sign on March 13 and will remain there until May 9, imbuing you with formidable energy to draw down your lofty ideals and test your own mettle by making manifest your desires. Action is the key word for you, Gemini, as it balances out your intellectual nature. The Wheel is often associated with the principle of karma, which in a nutshell, boils down to an action creating a result: aka–cause and effect. Don’t let dreamy Pisces season trick you into complacency. There’s still work to be done, and plenty of it. At least it will be fun and rewarding.

Cancer: June 21 – July 21

Nine of Cups

Let’s look at the synchronicity you’ve been experiencing lately, Cancer: two Nines back to back. Aquarius season brought you the Nine of Wands and Pisces season is ushering in the Nine of Cups. Last we left off, you had a choice before you. I’ll hedge my bet that you did make that pressing decision and now you’re in a position of ease. That’s not to say things have slowed down, but rather, you’re in a more grounded and secure place emotionally. In the Tarot, the Nines symbolize near completion and a pivotal moment where the power is being put back in your hands after quite a long struggle. The Cups in the Tarot represent the element of water, which aligns nicely with this season of the mutable fish. Nine of Cups is the quintessential wish card: if you could wave a magic wand, what would you ask to receive? Pisces is the dreamiest dreamboat of the zodiac, but not in a childish way. Residing in the 12th house of the zodiacal wheel, Pisces is an old soul, super psychic and wildly imaginative. It exudes a boundaryless elegance and ease, all the while inherently knowing the risks involved when we abandon ourselves and our needs. The Nine of Cups invites you to dream big and refrain from limiting yourself with self limiting beliefs. This is a season to reinvent yourself, if you wish, and imagine living the life you’ve always dreamed of.

Leo: July 22 – August 22

Knight of Cups

Hold tight, Leo: love is calling to you in a deep, deep way. Last Aquarius season, we talked about vulnerability being the key to intimacy. You’re searching for authentic connection, as that’s what Leo’s do: they find their kin, invest in their pride and with the Sun as their ruling planet, shine bright. Since we last touched in, I’m curious to know whether you’ve allowed yourself to be authentically seen by those who matter most. There’s nothing more important to a Leo’s identity than being able to safely express who they are (applause to follow is always welcome; standing ovation even better). The world is your stage and we’re all transfixed, fingers double crossed that you’ll break through the fourth wall and come that much closer to us. This Pisces season, we’re inviting in connection and diving into the depths of our emotional wellspring. Your creative nature might feel extra expressive this zodiacal season: the poetry might flow, the painting might get finished, the tenuous relationship might get sorted out. There’s endless possibilities with the Knight of Cups supporting you: this big fish energy helps you to embark on the emotional journey needed to bring you the joy you desire, all while facing your inhibitions in stride.

Virgo: August 23 – September 21

The Empress

Talk about owning your power, Virgo. The Empress is responding to you this Pisces season much like we wish for our prayers to whisper back to us. During Aquarius season, the Nine of Cups came through for you: the quintessential “wish card.” We talked about the need to surrender to that which we cannot control and yet know where we do have agency and can step up to the plate. The Empress embodies deep wisdom around knowing your self worth. This card reminds us we are a world unto ourselves and yet are intricately connected to everything around us. The Virgin is your symbolic archetype, and thus you identify with autonomy, myopic focus (which enables you to see projects through to the very end) and purity of intention. You are the least manipulative sign of the zodiac, with a “what you see is what you get” aura about you. You don’t have time for mind games or double speak, and yet, you sometimes have a hard time asking for what you need. In fact, it is often a challenge to get you to admit that you have needs in the first place. The Empress, so symbolic of Nature and all its sentient and non-sentient creatures, reminds you that having needs is not a sign of weakness: it is simply germain to existence. As singular as you seem, we’ve discussed that vulnerability is the key to intimacy. This Pisces season, asserting your needs (aka whispering your wishes out loud) will lead you to greater connection with others (the two-footed, four-pawed, finned and feathered) and most importantly with yourself. It is your birthright to be here.

Libra: September 23 – October 22

Knight of Pentacles

Action-oriented energy is strong with the Tarot Tauk Tarotscopes this Pisces season with several Knights coming through, and you happen to have the most grounded ally of the deck at your side. You’re ditching the shining armor in favor of bones, flesh and secure footing. Venus, your ruling planet, spent time in the sign of Pisces from late January through February 19, which gave you plenty of time to dream big and consider what you truly need in order to have successful relationships. Venus will be in Aries, the archetype of action and self-actualization, until March 16: this is a time for Libra natives to self advocate and pursue their desires without worrying about stepping on overly senstive toes. When out of balance, Libra, you’re more concerned with everyone else’s needs and willing to sacrifice your own needs to avoid a conflict. You tend to overthink and imagine worst case scenarios when relationships that matter most to you are in their rupture/repair phase. The most dire outcome you could conjure is being excluded from a beloved relationship or group: in other words, rejection. The Knight of Pentacles grounds you down into the core of your being, asserting your birthright to exist as well as co-exist. This card is also asking you to take action to secure the base of your own desires, however thorough and slow-moving you wish to proceed. With the current transit of your wanton planet Venus in fiery Aries, putting baby (you) in a corner is highly unlikely. Let’s light this candle, shall we?

Scorpio: October 23 – November 22

Three of Swords

The best news about Three of Swords, Scorpio, is that you get to choose just how deep the emotional wound goes. The first sword represents the inevitable pain that comes with the human condition. Sword number two reflects the stories we tell ourselves about our pain (i.e. “I deserve it,” or, “Better luck next time”). Sword number three is the ways we try to escape our pain (i.e. addictions, self-abandonment, distractions like social media scrolling). Pisces season is here, and the archetype of Pisces reflects the mystic, the poet, the dreamer. Spiritualism is a key theme of the 12th house ruled by Pisces, our mutable water sign of the zodiac. Mutable signs are exquisite at being adaptable. You, Scorpio, share the water element with your zodiacal brethren Pisces, and you’re a fixed sign: adept at focusing, finishing and resolving. Scorpio, you rule the 8th house and your planetary parent is Pluto, the archetype of deep and lasting transformation. I’m being verbose, and I know your fuse is short so I’ll get to the point: by exploring the depths of your vast emotional landscape (you are the deepest diver of the emotional realm of all the 12 zodiac signs, Scorps), and instilling the virtues of spiritualistic Pisces, you’re putting the power back in your hands by taking ownership of your life experiences and how the effect you. Case in point: Viktor Frankl wrote “Man’s Search for Meaning” as a result of his experiences as a Holocaust survivor. Pain does not equal defeat. The story is yours to write.

Sagittarius: November 22 – December 20

Four of Wands

Stepping outside your comfort zone is where the pot of gold is, Sag. Four of Wands is a fire element card, just as you’re a fire sign, and the two of you together have strong “Don’t fence me in” energy. The adage “Ships are safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are built for,” rings true for you on a daily basis. Throw in the ethereal energy of Pisces season, and you’re ready to believe ships have wings. Well maybe they do: couldn’t their sails be wing-like? Their wake, a dragon’s tail? A sturdy, living thing, this ship of your dreams. Pisces is the archetype of the dreamer, among other things, thanks to Neptune’s rulership over the sign. Neptune, the impossible-to-define planet. The unicorn. The planet that speaks of resilience through escapism. “Puff the Magic Dragon” on repeat (that song makes me cry everytime, by the way. And they say Capricorns don’t have feelings). You’ve been bucking to explore, and as the ruler of the 9th house in astrology, you know full well that travel and adventure can just as likely occur in the landscape of your mind or in a song as it could boots-on-the-ground. This is quite the shift from last season’s card pull, though Aquarius season readied you for the adventure. Keep looking for the clouds with meaningful shapes: they hold clues. Listen to the wind for the answer to the question that spilled from your lips when you thought no one was listening. Gaze at the stars and the ocean alike for any sign of dragon-sweep. The world is what you make it. It’s all there, if you believe.

Capricorn: December 21 – January 19

Eight of Pentacles

Let your body do the work, Cap. I know you’re overjoyed at this prescription, the worker bee that you are. Eight of Pentacles implores us to get down to brass tacks and put away any distractions that are keeping us from getting the job done. Last season, we thinned the herd by eradicating self doubt through the archetype of Seven of Swords. This zodiacal season, you’re invited to blend the dreamy nature of Pisces with your Saturn-ruled affinity for tenacity. Finish the thing, already. It’s been a looonnngggg time in the making. Fair enough, as mastery takes thousands of hours of investment. While you’re no stranger to commitment, perfection is often your hangup for turning in the finished product. The Eight of Pentacles takes care of your wish for perfection by allowing you the space this season to hone your craft, dedicate your attention and get really good at something. Pentacles are the Earth element in the Tarot, so this can apply to a career endeavor, education or certification, redesign of a place of residence or work so it functions optimally, or taking excellent care of your body (as your body’s home is the Earth). Take all the time you need this season, knowing that as Aries season kicks off on March 21, you’ll be ready for the big reveal come Spring.

Aquarius: January 20 – February 17

Knight of Swords

It’s time to act swiftly and confidently, Aquarius, and the go-code you’ve been waiting for appears as The Knight of Swords. This is a fortuitous follow up to last season’s Six of Wands, which indicated that you’d be the center of celebration should you be courageous enough to share your gifts with the world. By courageous, don’t take it to mean that your heartfelt desire to do good in this lifetime is anything less than brazen. More so, your ideas are so innovative that not everyone is ready for them. Going against the grain takes courage. “Ahead of your time” could easily describe you. Regardless, you’re not here to appease the mainstream. You pave inroads by going off-roading, and thinking outside-the-box is your strong suit. Don’t be discouraged by naysayers and draconian stick-in-the-muds. Change is in the air and you’re coming in like calvary. The Knight of Swords, paired with imaginative Pisces season, underscores the message that society is in dire need of your direction. Also an air element, as are you, this card suggests that your points will hit their mark through communication and focused thought. You may wish to pen an Op Ed, patent that invention or put together an outline for a public speaking opportunity that has the potential to get them on their feet.

Pisces: February 18 – March 19

Ace of Cups

Happy Birthday season, Pisces! The Ace of Cups ushers in a fresh perspective on love, relationships and how you process your emotions. I often think of puppy love when this card comes through. Not because it’s our first rodeo with Cupid’s aim, but rather the energy of the heart is innocent, trusting and undeterred. Anahata is the Sanskrit word for the heart chakra, and essentially means “unstruck.” There is a place within our energetic heart center that remains whole no matter how many times our heart is broken. This is cause for celebration as last season’s Three of Pentacles invited you to surround yourself with people, systems and institutions worth their salt. Ace of Cups is a water element card, which pairs up nicely as you’re a water sign, and perhaps the most innately psychic of all the signs. Neptune, your ruling planet, is known for its ethereal qualities, as are you. When you walk into a party, you’re gifted at innocuously scanning the emotional landscapes of others without prying, but rather, assessing and understanding. You’re a master at reading the room. You find ways to relate to just about everyone, dissolving disconnect from even the most socially discerning person (Hi, Aquarius!). Pisces, the fish, lives in a boundaryless world and your superpower is being able to do away with duplicity. You’re a natural peace-maker (while Libra is our archetypal peacekeeper). Ace of Cups represents the myopic attention to our emotional realm. This season, follow the calling of the wisdom center of the body: the heart knows.

  • Let’s be honest—there are two types of people in the Hamptons: those who go to Goldberg’s, and those who are wrong. By 8:30 a.m., the line is already forming, a mix of locals, contractors, summer people, and at least one guy pretending he doesn’t eat carbs while ordering a scooped bagel the size of a small planet.

  • Perched 162 feet above sea level on one of Shelter Island’s highest natural elevations, the modern residence at 42 Prospect Avenue + Part 23 Serpentine Drive, known as “Treetops,” is recognized for both its architecture and its wide-ranging views. Built in 2002 and designed by architect Frederick Stelle, who was honored with an AIA Archi Award, the home was inspired by the original structure on this site that was designed by Peter Schladermundt—whose work was featured at the 1964 New York World’s Fair.

Set on 3.41 acres, the three-story residence overlooks Peconic Bay, the North Fork, Long Island Sound, and, on clear days, has views to the Connecticut shoreline. The design uses expanses of glass to open the house to its surroundings, keeping the landscape in constant view.

Owned by financier Lewis Ranieri, widely recognized for his role in developing the mortgage-backed securities market, the property serves as a counterpoint to the pace of his professional life.

  • Empire of the Atlantic is a breathtaking taste of what everyone loves about the magic of the waters off the East End, specifically Montauk. Jeff Ragovin, Founder and CEO of Ragovin Ventures, is the executive producer through Bounty Uncharted Productions and assembled a team to bring the project to fruition.

This 15-minute documentary (available on YouTube) is currently one of the hottest East End must-sees. Being able to watch the various whales, giant bluefin tuna, marlins, hammerhead sharks, and so many other fish feeding off Montauk in phenomenal drone-captured color footage is spellbinding.
