It was my buddy’s 47th birthday, and we got the text, “I want to check out this place Kidd Squidd Brewing Company in Sag Harbor for my birthday.”
Beer? I’m there.
We were an entourage of about nine people, including our kids. One thing is for sure, Kidd Squid is one cool freaking spot to chill and hang out. There is live music there, little games set up, colorful décor and they welcome everybody.
Oh, and the beer is excellent too.
You can also get wine or cider in a can, as well as a variety of snacks displayed in a cooler, or if you feeling really hungry, you can get a giant pretzel with a massive pile of cheese poured right on top of it.
The vibe, though. The vibe is just so awesome.
It’s a small place, so you feel like you belong when you’re there with just two other people. The live music was played by Jim Turner, a local legend out here, rocking out on blues guitar and harmonica, and as the time went on, people from all over started piling in with big smiles on their faces. Kidd Squid has it figured out.
Got a dog? No problem, bring him along and hang out in the garden area. It’s definitely cool and will quickly become a Sag Harbor staple. If you’re in the mood to kill some time in the middle of the day, stop in at Kidd Squid, enjoy some smiles and some beer and some music, and a little bit of what this area is all about.
