St. Jude will once again invite all to join them and help support the Children’s Research Hospital’s vital, life-saving efforts during the annual St. Jude Hope in the Hamptons benefit on Saturday, July 21.
“We are celebrating the 4th year of St. Jude Hope in the Hamptons,” noted Bertie Downs, Regional Development Director, ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. “Each year the Hamptons community comes together to raise funds and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Over the past 3 years, this event has raised over $1 million for the kids of St. Jude.”
Taking place at The Fields in Southampton from 6 to 10:30 p.m., CBS 2 anchor Chris Wragge will serve as the special guest M.C. of this red carpet soiree that will feature exclusive live and silent auctions, exceptional cocktails, light summer bites from Catering by Restaurant Associates, and live entertainment by local band, Magic Music. Benefit-goers will also get to hear from the Birdsall family who has been personally impacted by St. Jude.
“The funds raised at this event enables St. Jude to continue to lead the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases,” Downs shared. “Everything we do is centered on finding cures and saving children.”
St. Jude, which has the highest survival rates for the most aggressive childhood cancers, has been a major factor in the rise of the childhood cancer survival rate – from 20 percent to 80 percent. As St. Jude openly shares any breakthrough it discovers, doctors and scientists from around the globe can use the lifesaving information to aid in the treatment of even more children.

“Families never receive a bill from St. Jude. St. Jude pays for treatment, travel, housing and food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live,” Downs added. “St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs made, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.”
St. Jude is able to offer its services at no cost thanks to funding from individual donors and vital benefits like Hope in the Hamptons, allowing families to concentrate on what’s most important – the wellbeing of their little ones. And, not only does St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® not charge for its lifesaving services, they also aid with treatment, travel, housing and food.
Tickets to St. Jude Hope in the Hamptons are $350.
