Southampton Arts Center is pleased to present hip-hop artist, rapper, and human beat boxer, Baba Israel, with an all-star lineup of Latin/Jazz musicians for an incredible night of genre fusion. During LIVE from SAC: HIP-LA-JAZ Night!, Hip-Hop will meet Latin + Jazz music – resulting in an unforgettable show where Ada Rovatti, Bill O’Connell, Santi Debriano, and Claes Brondal will be joined on stage by Israel.
“One of the main goals of this concert series is to present and showcase the wonderful world of music within the Jazz umbrella and beyond,” said Brondal, who curates the series and founded The Jam Session, about LIVE from SAC. “The roots of rhythm and history of the Americas is the unique melting pot of world cultures and societies.”
The latest iteration of LIVE from SAC will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 7 p.m., and all concerts are recorded live to air at a later date on WPPB, the local NPR station. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for sangria and small bites compliments of Union Cantina.
“Considering the rich history of the Bronx and Manhattan – Jazz/Salsa/Hip-Hop is the natural but not famous musical family,” said Brondal. “There is so much we can do within the spirit and traditions of these styles!”

The Jam Session, Inc., who will co-present this concert series, is a non-profit organization focused on the art of improvisational Jazz as the primary foundation, with other styles and influences present as well. Inspired by the late-night jam sessions and loft rehearsals in New York City, The Jam Session believes that the evolution and survival of improvisational music takes place in front of a live audience, being inclusive and accessible to all who want to engage. “We want people to experience some of the best music gumbos and genres rooted in this country. The sub-text is that all humans are interconnected and we live on this planet as one – ultimately sharing one big fat world culture,” remarked Brondal.
Tickets to LIVE from SAC: HIP-LA-JAZ Night! are $20.
