While Eleven Madison Park’s Hamptons summer pop up, EMP Summer House – in partnership with American Express, was just supposed to be a one-time deal, Chef Daniel Humm and restaurateur Will Guidara have surprised all and decided to bring the buzziest Hamptons restaurant of 2017 back for a second summer.
As Chef Humm and Guidara renovated the Manhattan eatery – which has earned three stars from Michelin, and four from The New York Times – last summer they wanted to make sure their staff was taken care of and didn’t want to leave diners in the lurch, which led to the creation of EMP Summer House. However, the duo originally anticipated presenting the Hamptons pop up for just the summer of 2017. Its success – the restaurant was the most requested reservation in the U.S. last summer through American Express Platinum Concierge – led the duo to reexamine their decision.

“I’m so excited to be partnering for a second summer with Amex to bring EMP Summer House to the Hamptons once again,” Chef Humm said. “As a chef, it’s especially exciting to be that much closer to some of the amazing farmers, fishermen and artisans out East and to create dishes that highlight summer’s best ingredients.”
And, Eleven Madison Park fans will be elated to learn that not only is EMP Summer House returning to the same East End outpost, but Chef Humm, Guidara, and American Express will launch the inaugural EMP Winter House in Aspen later this year.
“We had originally planned the pop-up for one season, but had such an incredible experience with our guests and our staff last summer that we, along with our partners at American Express, realized there was no choice but to create a sequel,” Guidara explained. “We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the beach and introducing the new Winter House soon!”
EMP Summer House will offer signature dishes like Lobster tempura with bibb lettuce, pickled radish and chile-lime aioli, Tomato salad with strawberries and almonds, Corn flatbread with parmesan and truffle, and Ribeye for two, wood-fired with shallot, parmesan and potato, as well as other favorites inspired by Eleven Madison Park and local ingredients.
It will be housed at the same location as last year – which hosted the likes of Vanessa Hudgens, Austin Butler, Alec Baldwin, Hilaria Baldwin, Brad Goreski, June Ambrose, Brendan Fallis, Maxwell Osborne, Todd Snyder, Robert Kraft, and many other notable names – and boast a similar casual, beachier vibe, with both indoor and outdoor spaces.
And, like last year, you will only be able to secure a reservation with an American Express Card, and Amex will be the sole form of card payment accepted at the restaurants.
“We are excited to continue our successful partnership with Chef Daniel Humm and Will Guidara to bring the popular EMP Summer House back to the Hamptons and open the first EMP Winter House in Aspen – both top travel destinations for our Card Members,” noted Janey Whiteside, executive vice president and general manager of Global Premium Products, Benefits and Services at American Express.
American Express and Eleven Madison Park also have a variety of exceptional happenings planned for Card Members at EMP Summer House and EMP Winter House – so keep an eye out.
“We’re also thrilled to be partnering with Amex on EMP Winter House and we’re looking forward to sharing more details in the coming months,” Chef Humm added.
EMP Summer House will be open Friday, May 25, 2018 through Labor Day, while EMP Winter House will be open December 2018 through March 2019. A location and the exact dates for EMP Winter House will be announced later this year.
