You can expect a plethora of perplexing, thought provoking works at The White Room Gallery, as the Bridgehampton-based gallery has invited a group of artists to challenge viewers’ perception with a selection of paintings, photographs, mixed media and sculptures that will evoke bewilderment, surprise, make you question, and hopefully even leave you wanting more as part of its latest exhibition – where “nothing is too abstract or too much.”
“Anarchy breeds creativity in the most delightful of ways,” noted Kat O’Neill, The White Room Gallery co-director/partner and What the Hell? participating artist. “What the Hell? as a juried show title was a provacateur and the artists delivered in spades resulting in an engaging, enticing, eclectic mix of mediums and muses. Oh, and yes, with a sprinkle of the erotic.”
What the Hell? will premiere on Thursday, November 16 and remain on view through Sunday, December 3.
The group show will showcase works from David Geiser, Paul Dempsey, Hilary McCarthy, Kat O’Neill, Jerry Schwabe, Setha Lowe, Adam Umbach, James Slezak, Phil Marco, and more.
An opening reception will take place on Saturday, November 18 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The White Room Gallery is located at 2415 Main Street in Bridgehampton. For more information, call 631-237-1481 or visit www.thewhiteroom.gallery.
