If your fitness routine has hit a plateau, plan on getting back on track over Columbus Day when “Retreat to Knowhere” comes to the newly renovated Breakers Montauk.
“We’ve teamed up Leyla Marchetto of Breakers Montauk and Physique 57 co-founder Tanya Becker,” shared Marisa Hochberg of MJH Wellness, who curated the event. “The idea is it’s a ‘retreat to knowhere,’ but you get to know your body through Physic 57, get to know your food through sessions with a nutritionist, get to know others – when you share farm-to-table lunches and dinners, and you really get to know yourself.”
From Friday, October 6 through Sunday, October 8, participants will take Physique 57 classes with co-founder, Tanya Becker, nosh on delicious, sustainable meals from Chef Megan Huylo and Chef Trevor Swope of Dock to Dish, hear from leaders in the health and wellness industry and take advantage of the serenity of Montauk.
“Montauk is the perfect place to escape for a weekend of ultimate wellness and mind opening experiences. I am excited to both teach and partake on this ‘Retreat to Knowhere,'” Physique 57 Co-Founder, Tanya Becker, noted. “Throughout the weekend we will focus on getting to ‘know’ your wellness community, getting to know me and other wellness experts, getting to know Montauk, and getting to know your body! Expect classes that will make you stronger from the inside out.”
On Sunday, culinary nutritionist, author, and Reboot Food founder Stefanie Sacks will take part in a panel.
“It’s really a retreat post summer during the best time of the year in Montauk,” shared Hochberg, who embarked on a physical transforming that resulted in loosing 75 pounds. “Because of my weight loss story, I lost so much of my weight in Montauk and it made such a difference in my life, I want others to get to know themselves and I want to get to know them as well.”
For those interested in attending, but already have plans for the majority of the weekend, you can participate in a portion of the activities. “If people are out there for the Hamptons Film Festival or the Montauk Fall Festival, there’s a special pass that they can buy that gives them access to the classes and smoothies and a great gift bag with Physique 57 gear and other giveaways,” Hochberg said.
Attendees will also have the option to visit Montauk’s Himalayan Salt Cave.
“This is going to be the first of many that we’re going to do at the Breakers,” Hochberg added. “We have another one that people who can’t make this one are already inquiring about. It’ll be in the spring, probably right before Memorial Day or maybe the first weekend of June.”
In addition to the weekend long events, you can expect several other happenings that focus on wellbeing. “This is going to be the start of many wellness events at the Breakers,” Hochberg said. “We did a big event over Labor Day weekend with Under Armour. We have a lot of things planned already for summer 2018.”
