Autumn may have just begun, but an absolute must attend fall East End happening is about to return, so mark your calendar because you’re not going to want to miss this festival.
On Friday, September 29, the 7th annual San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons at Good Ground Road in Hampton Bays will launch with an opening night extravaganza, presented alongside Ferrari Maserati of Long Island, from 6 to 10 p.m. The Cars Under the Stars: Rally to the Kick Off Carnival & Dance Party will feature music from Nitework Band.
“This year’s San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons will feature Sal Valentinetti on Saturday night, over 100 food and artisan vendors, entertainment every hour both days, pay one price Carnival admission on both days,” noted Rick Martel. “Food eating contests throughout the weekend and a FIAT car raffle on Sunday night.”
On Saturday, Grand Marshall Father Edward Sheridan, Pastor of Saint Rosalie’s Parish, will lead the Opening Ceremony Parade, which steps off at 10:30 a.m., heading from Ponquogue Avenue to Montauk Highway to Springville Road.

Do you really, really love Italian cuisine – to the point where you could eat nearly endless amounts? The eating contests are for you. On Saturday, competitors will see who can eat the most pizza (at 2:15 p.m.) and cannoli (at 4:30 p.m.) and a beer stein holding competition will take place at 6:30 p.m. On Sunday, it’s all about the sausage (at 1:45 p.m.), zeppoli (3:30 p.m.) and meatball (5:30 p.m.). And, if eating contests aren’t your thing, they’ll be plenty of delicious Italian delicacies that you can purchase and eat at your own leisure.
Saturday’s live music schedule will feature DJ Johny Iovino from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m., Something Fresh Band from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Peter Pierre Figuccio from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and America’s Got Talent Finalist Sal “The Voice” Valentinetti, complete with his Orchestra, from 7 to 10 p.m., while Sunday headliners include Pamela Lee from 2 to 2:30 p.m., Sergio from 2:30 to 3 p.m., Jayquan from 3 to 3:30 p.m., The Acchords from 4 to 5:30 p.m., and New Life Crisis from 6 to 8 p.m.

The always impressive Grucci fireworks display will blast off at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
This year’s Feast will present an entertaining combination of beloved traditions and new happenings – including midway rides, with something for all ages. The San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons, Inc. is a charitable organization 501c(3), sponsored by the chamber of commerce, that is committed to bringing the community together and highlighting the beauty of the East End beyond the summer season. A portion of proceeds from the San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons will be donated to Maureen’s Haven, the Coalition for Women’s Cancers at Southampton Hospital, and the San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons Scholarship Fund.
Leading up to the Festival, for $50, you can enter to win a FIAT car, or for $100 you can up your luck with three raffle tickets. Tickets are currently available at Scotto’s Pork Store and Skidmore’s Sports. The winner will be announced on Sunday at 6 p.m.
The San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons will take place Saturday, September 30 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, October 1 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free.
