Hosted at their private residence in Bridgehampton, Amy and Gary Green held the second Annual Footprint of Life Gala this Thursday with performances by Ludacris, Kate Simko, London Orchestra and Abe Lichy.
If you weren’t already all-in on protecting the Earth, nobody left uninspired with so much energy and focus on our planet. They said it right, “This isn’t just another gala. It’s a movement.”
Ludacris, the three-time Grammy award winner and Screen Actors Guild award recipient, was phenomenal and nobody knows how to work a room like him. Chef Ronica Copes was absolutely serving with an exquisite selection of bite-size delights for the VIP table.
We know how important it is to protect nature in the Hamptons. Sometimes, people forget how much of the East End is preserved land. Events like the Footprint of Life Gala are inspiring reminders of not just how critical environmental protection is, but also inspiring to see so many notable and influential people dedicating their time and resources to such a noble cause.
This star-studded Hamptons fundraiser event was in support of conservation and education initiatives, including GreenVision, Tusk, and Planetary Guardians. The Green Vision Foundation is family-run and has curated an elevated evening bringing together like-minded organizations to collaborate and confront the rising environmental issues facing our world.
Some of the foremost experts on environmental issues spoke on protecting rainforests, empowering Indigenous communities, recognizing the need to combat illegal wildlife trade, support for anti-poaching efforts, and preserving the planet’s biodiversity and natural resources.
The 50-Shades of Blue theme was refreshingly colorful for the Hamptons and the guestlist showed out in full effect. The blue refrain was an important reminder for the work to preserve and protect the environment and our natural world, promote community upliftment, and support conservation and education programs. Building on the inaugural Footprint of Life Gala last year, this year’s event establishes a space to support the environment.
In addition to the live auction, the gala also celebrated the next generation of climate activists and welcomed Xiye Bastida, co-founder of the Re-Earth Initiative and 2023 TIME100 Next winner.
The gala’s guest list included notable names….Audrey Freeman, Abe and Erin Lichy, Ramona Singer, Daryl Strawberry, Erika Katz, Cristina Cuomo, Jackie Siegel, Consuelo Vanderbilt, Steve Madden, David Yarrow, Julia Haart, Erica Pelosi, David Corso, and more.
Those involved in the initiative have come to call the gala a “Camelot for the Planet.” It’s establishing a powerful precedent and promises a remarkable journey. Amy Green says, “Sustainability, conservation, education, and love of animals have always been close to my heart. I have been promoting these causes throughout my life and am honored to take this a step further by creating The Footprint of Life Gala. This has been a dream of mine for a long time, and I know together we can spread a word of love, kindness, and commitment to create significant change.”
