The Friends of the John Jermain Library is inviting you to tour the charming homes of a few of their friends during The Sag Harbor House Tour on Friday, July 7th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s house tour features five beautiful Sag Harbor Village homes.
“The annual House Tour is one of the highlights of the summer season for the entire Sag Harbor community,” shared Toby Spitz, President of The Friends of the John Jermain Library. “It is the major fundraiser to provide both adult and children’s programming for the John Jermain Memorial Library.”
The first stop on Garden Street is a home built in 1850, which has been renovated and updated by its current owner and features many custom features including heated floors and windows reflecting historic designs. Another interesting feature of the home is its two staircases.

The next stop is on the corner of Garden Street and Long Island Avenue. This home was recently built and designed by Peter Cook. It features an open floor plan and ample wall space that showcases the owners’ impressive art collection. The abode’s rooftop terrace provides an exclusive lounge area and the perfect place watch sunsets over the harbor.
The third stop is located on Oakland behind a giant stone wall and green hedges. This home, with a spectacular front garden, was recently built, although that did not stop the owners from honoring the neighborhood’s historic background. As you are walking up the stairs be sure to spot the massive crystal chandelier. The backyard doesn’t disappoint either with lovely gardens, a pool and outdoor living space.
The second to last stop is located on Latham Street and is an 1898 Greek revival style home that recently underwent a complete renovation. The owners decorated this house with a modern look in mind while remaining true to the houses roots. The chef’s kitchen features stone countertops and a built-in bench beside the table.

The last stop on the tour was built in 1882 and is located on Hempstead Street. As you climb the stairs it is almost impossible to miss the giant model airplane hanging overhead. The entire house is filled with the owner’s treasures from his world travels. Before you leave don’t forget to stop by the vegetable garden to meet the owner and world-renowned architect, Jeff Nagron.
Tickets are $50 in advance at The Wharf Shop (69 Main Street, Sag Harbor) or at the John Jermain Library (201 Main Street, Sag Harbor). On the day of the tour, tickets will be available at both locations for $55.
