The Sag Harbor fire on December 16, 2016 devastated the small community and led to the demolition of at least four buildings. The RJD Gallery was unfortunately one of those buildings. Though their gallery was consumed by the fire, the RJD Gallery team spent the new few months working on the construction of a new location at 2385 Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton – conveniently located between Bobby Vans and the Candy Kitchen. Fortunately, much of the Gallery’s art work was stored in a large storage facility offsite, but there was certainly many valuable works lost in the tragic fire.
On Saturday, March 25th, RJD Gallery hosted a launch party for its new space. The joyous celebration included the chance to meet artists Jules Arthur, Drew Ernst and Philipp Thomas.
The RJD team worked tirelessly to open the new gallery space and is pleased to once again be sharing exquisite masterpieces with the public. The new gallery has twice the space of its old location, on just one floor, and it also boasts a separate upper studio.
“While we are going to miss the Sag Harbor community, we are excited to open the new gallery at 2385 Main Street in Bridgehampton,” said Eve Gianni Corio, RJD Gallery Director. “We hope that our Sag Harbor community will continue to visit, and that our new community will embrace us, and enjoy our offering.”

Its presence on Artsy, 1st Dibs, and Art Net were put on hold for a while as the RJD team sorted out paperwork for the insurance company, but they are now prepared to move forward and attend to business per usual on the cyber galleries.
RJD Gallery is incredibly grateful for their supportive and growing collector base, which has enabled their commitment of giving to and partnering with nonprofit charities – like the Hamptons Juried Art Show with East Hampton’s The Retreat – the area’s only domestic violence agency, which opens on Saturday, April 22.
“We are thankful for our supportive collectors and for virtual platforms which has allowed our business to continue during this challenging time,” said Corio.
