On Saturday, August 6th, over 600 attendees came out to support the Southampton Hospital’s 58th Annual Summer Party. Benefit Chairs Hollis and Jim Forbes and Bill Ford and Marigay McKee, President and CEO of Southampton Hospital Robert Chaloner, and Southampton Hospital Foundation President Steve Bernstein welcomed guests to the soiree, which was held at the corner of Wickapogue and Old Town Road in Southampton.

NBC’s Chuck Scarborough served as the evening’s emcee and music from the Groove Society kept partygoers on the dance floor all throughout the benefit. The benefit’s unassuming locale was transformed by Lawrence Scott Events, who added extravagant buffets, dramatic table centerpieces that featured gold shells complimented with stunning orchids, whimsical flowers and woodsy ferns.
Once cocktail hour was complete and guests found their way to their table, Chuck Scarborough thanked the crowd for backing such a terrific cause. Jim and Hollis Forbes and Marigay McKee also shared their appreciation. “What an honor it has been to work with the dedicated team at Southampton Hospital,” they shared.
Additionally, attendees could support the Hosiptal by bidding on live auction items, which included tickets to some of the hottest Broadway shows like Hamilton, Waitress and Cats.
Southampton Village Mayor Mark Epley and his wife Marianne Epley, Jean and Martin Shafiroff, Julie Ratner, Somers and Jonathan Farkas, Stony Brook’s Dr. Kenneth Kaushansky, John Paulson, and Douglas Elliman Real Estate Chairman Howard M. Lorber, who is also President of the Board of Trustees of Southampton Hospital Foundation, were among those who supported the Gala. Douglas Elliman Real Estate serves as Corporate Chair.
Overall, this year’s summer fundraiser was a tremendous succuess, raising over $1.3 million for the Jenny & John Paulson Emergency Department, which is the sole provider of emergency care on the South Fork, treating more than 25,000 people annually.
Southampton Hospital is the first provisional Level III adult trauma center on Long Island’s East End, allowing the Hospital to provide assistance to the most critically injured patients. With an influx of visitors during the summer, this designation is even more significant and quicker treatment can often mean the difference between life and death for trauma patients.
