Ann Liguori, long-time sports talk show host/interviewer/author and golf correspondent for WFAN Radio and CBS Sports Radio Network, will serve as host of the charity event that raises funding and awareness for not-for-profits.
”I’m thrilled to be hosting our 18th annual charity golf classic, the last 8 as part of the Ann Liguori Foundation,” she said. “I’m delighted with the support we provide every year to both local, regional and national not-for-profits that focus on cancer prevention, research and care and other important initiatives that help so many worthwhile charities.”
Proceeds from the event will support organizations that focus on cancer prevention, care and research, including St. Jude Children’s Hospital, American Cancer Society, KIDS NEED MORE, a camp on Shelter Island for children with cancer and their siblings, and other not-for-profits that back this cause. Additionally, the Ann Liguori Foundation supports the ALF Sports Media Scholarship, which aids young women who want to pursue a career in sports media, and also the Jim Liguori Memorial Scholarship at the University of South Florida.
Registration for the Ann Liguori Foundation Charity Golf Classic begins at 10 a.m. Prior to the shot gun start at 12 p.m., guests will enjoy brunch and sprawling views of the Long Island Sound in the grand clubhouse. Before hitting the links, participants can practice their swing at the Friar’s Head driving range and practice facility. Once the round of golf is over, players can relax in the clubhouse before they indulge in an impressive buffet dinner, watch the awards presentation, and bid in the auction, which will feature the opportunity to win playing time at some of the most prominent golf courses in the world, as well as other unique items.
As per usual, the hostess is looking forward to the annual happening. “I thank our volunteers and the East End of Long Island for their continual support, our golfers who come in from all over to play every year and the international golf community for getting behind so many important causes,” Liguori added.
Entry is $6,800 per foursome or $1,700 per person. Attendees will receive a goodie bag with a variety of premium-items, and caddies are included in the admission fee.
Note: This event has sold out for the 18th straight year.
