Sag Harbor-based artist Casey Chalem Anderson’s latest series, Ocean and Flower Field Paintings, will be on view at Eileen Fisher in East Hampton, starting Sunday, May 22nd through Saturday, May 28th.
“The inspiration for the paintings is the unique Hamptons landscape where you have the blue ocean, sparkling bays and salt marshes right next to rich farm land,” she explained. “Sometimes you are even lucky enough to come across a field of flowers.” Her love for the East End also motivated the artist to give back to the community and help ensure the stunning scenery stays intact, as 10 percent of all art sales will benefit the Peconic Land Trust, who works with landowners to protect the area’s scenic vistas, water quality and productive farmland on Eastern Long Island.
The exhibition’s concept was sparked during a dreary winter day. “The show collaboration is an idea that the manager at Eileen Fisher, Jacquie Gettling, and I had on a bitter cold day in February,” Chalem Anderson said. “We thought my paintings of the Hamptons flower fields and sparkling ocean would look great in their gorgeous space.” The local landscapes accompany the store’s decor beautifully. “The paintings are original oil paintings on canvas or wood,” she noted. “I will have some new items, digital fine art prints on wood panels. I’m very happy with how they look and I can offer them for 1/4 of an original.”

The artist just knew the partnership was a natural fit. “Eileen Fisher uses a lot of sustainable fabrics like organic linen and cotton in their timeless designs so it was a perfect match with Peconic Land Trust,” added Chalem Anderson. “I’ve worked with Peconic Land Trust to help spread the word about land conservation out here for ten years.”
A reception with the Artist will take place on Saturday, May 28th from 4 to 7 p.m. Additionally, on May 28th Eileen Fisher will donate 10 percent of all sales to the Peconic Land Trust.
