On Sunday, March 6th, bundle up and spend the end of the weekend gliding through the Hamptons during Katy’s Courage’s fifth annual Skate-A-Thon at Buckskill Winter Club.
“An event we look forward to every year is here again, the Katy’s Courage Skate-A-Thon hosted by Buckskill Winter Club,” shared Brigid Collins, founder of Katy’s Courage. “It’s a day that is great fun, with varied family skating events for all levels and a wonderful bake sale.”
The event, which begins at 1:15 p.m., features several winter outdoor favorites and after burning off a few calories in the rink, reward yourself with something sweet from Katy’s Courage’s bake sale or take a chance on the raffle.
“We appreciate all the hard work put in by the DeGroot family, and club manager Cory Lillie to make the day a success, and we look forward to seeing our friends there,” added Collins.
The Skate-A-Thon kicks off with a public skate from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m., followed by a puck throw from 3 to 3:10 p.m. A figure skating recital by coaches and participating kids is next at 3:15 p.m. The Skate-A-Thon skaters take the ice from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. and a public skating will be held again from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. The big raffle drawings and winner announcements take place at 6:15 p.m. and the event culminates with a hockey game from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
