On Saturday, October 31st, Sylvester Manor is getting in on frightening Halloween fun by presenting Mysteries of the Manor: Tales Tall and True. Brave attendees will take spirited tours through the historic manor house, where guides will bewitch listeners with stories of pirates, eerie mirrors, ghost encounters, and other otherworldly Sylvester tales passed down from over three centuries.
“Mysteries of the Manor: Tales Tall and True is a perfect family day event,” shared Kim Folks, Development Manager at Sylvester Manor Educational Farm. “There is something for everyone blending history and Halloween, from pumpkin crafts to a pirate treasure hunt, and house tours that include ghost stories and haunted hayrides.”
Along with ghostly tours, guests can take a haunted hayride, warm up with warm cider and toasted marshmallows, join in on a search for riches, nosh on seasonal bites and more.
Mysteries of the Manor will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. The historic house tours are recommended for ages 8 and up, and reservations are required. Admission is $5, but free for Sylvester Manor members and children under 4-years-old.
Sylvester Manor is located at 80 North Ferry Road in Shelter Island. For more information, call 631-749-0626 or visit sylvestermanor.org.
