Chances are your little one will love any opportunity to dress up and celebrate Halloween. With endless sweats, an excuse to pretend they’re from another universe or their favorite character, and fun arts and crafts, why wouldn’t they? Holiday happenings start soon, so here are some of our favorite East End Halloween events:

1. The Children’s Museum of the East End (376 Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Turnpike,
Bridgehampton, 631-537-8250, www.cmee.org) is holding their annual Halloween Bash on Friday, October 23rd from 4 to 6 p.m. Attendees will enjoy Halloween games, trick or treating, crafts, a costume contest and more. Admission is free for members and $10 for non-members. RSVP is required. Before you start making your rounds on All Hallows’ Eve, make sure your kids have the coolest candy collectors by taking part in a Halloween Design-A-Bag Workshop at the Museum on Saturday, October 31st 10 to 11 a.m. Space is limited for the class and admission is $5 for members and $17 for non-members.

2. Children can pick a pumpkin and let their creative side run wild during a Pumpkin Decorating workshop at the Hampton Library (2478 Main Street, Bridgehampton, 631-537-0015, www.hamptonlibrary.org) on Friday, October 23rd from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The family friendly happening is free, but reservations are recommended.
3. For more pumpkin fun, the Montauk Library (871 Montauk Highway, Montauk, 631-668-3377, www.montauklibrary.org) is holding a Pumpkin Decorating Party on Saturday, October 24th from 2 to 3 p.m. Attendees will design and decorate a pumpkin and then take it home. Admission is free, but reservations are required.
4. Frankenstein Follies, the ghoulishly fun musical revue, is back for its 21st year. Presented by Stages, the Halloween-themed theater is a performance you and your children won’t want to miss. Directed and choreographed by Helene Leonard, this autumn spectacular features all your favorite monsters and ghouls with a cast of local young performers. Performances will take place at Bay Street Theater (1 Bay Street, Sag Harbor, 631-329-1420, www.stagesworkshop.org) on Friday, October 23rd at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, October 24th at 2 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, October 25th at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15.

5. Kent Animal Shelter (2259 River Road, Calverton, 631-727-5731, www.kentanimalshelter.com) is throwing a Happy Howl-o-ween Party & Open House on Sunday, October 25th from 12 to 4 p.m. The afternoon will feature tricks and treats for kids and pets, raffle baskets, adoptable pets, and scenic river family pet photos.

6. Bring your little ghouls, goblins, princesses and fairies to Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa (290 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk, 631-668-1752, www.gurneysmontauk.com) for Monster Trick Or Treat Ice Skating on Saturday, October 31st from 12 to 9 p.m. Costumed cuties can skate on Gurney’s Ocean Front Ice Skating Rink after a sweet treat or two.
7. Those looking for a good scare should brave The Haunted Path & Ghoulish Game Night at SYS Recreation Center (1370A Majors Path, Southampton, 631-287-1511, www.sysinc.org) on Friday, October 30th from 7 to 10 p.m. With just one flash light to guide you through the path, don’t jump if you hear things that go bump in the night as you navigate through “the path.” Once you make it through, try your hand at one of SYS’s carn-evil games, like Zombie Basketball, Ghost Dodgeball, Mummy Races, and more. Admission is $5. On Saturday, October 31st, SYS is hosting a Trunk or Treat event from 1 to 3 p.m. Attendees can embellish the trunk of their car, come in costume and trick or treat from car trunk to car trunk.
8. Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF) is holding the final holiday gathering on Sunday, November 1st from 12 to 3 p.m. Meet at the ARF Adoption Center (91 Daniels Hole Road, Wainscott, 631-537-0400, www.arfhamptons.org) for a Halloween Pawty with tricks and treats, a walk along the haunted trail and best costume contest for children and pets.
