On Saturday, October 10th at 9 a.m., the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation (MPCCF) is holding an informational meeting at the Senior Nutrition Center at the Montauk Playhouse Community Center to explain the updated concept designs for the Aquatic and Cultural Centers at the historic Montauk Playhouse.
“We’re very excited to share the refined designs for the Playhouse with the community,” noted Lisa DeVeglio, president of the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation Board of Directors. “We encourage those who haven’t seen them yet to join us at this meeting where we’ll review the plans in depth and answer any questions.”
The meeting will cover the revised concept designs plans for the Playhouse, which were created by Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership. The presentation will also showcase the latest images and floor plans.
The Aquatic Center will include two pools, one for fitness training and the other for recreation. Its design will fully benefit from the ample natural light the building offers and a vaulted atrium ceiling, which is reminiscent of the building’s original design, gives the space a roomy feel.
The Playhouse’s Cultural Center will serve as a multi-use location, allowing an area for meetings and activities downstairs, while upstairs a performance space will be home to theater productions, live music, community programming, and more. Its two-story entry lobby will provide a great venue for exhibits and art shows.
A Q and A session and refreshments will follow the meeting.
The Senior Nutrition Center at the Montauk Playhouse Community Center is located at 240 Edgemere Street in Montauk. For more information, call 631-668-3760 or visit www.montaukplayhouse.org.
