The Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) recently announced the list of notable names that will be featured in their annual “A Conversation With” series. This year’s participants include actress Emily Blunt, director Michael Moore, and journalist Dan Rather.
The first HIFF “A Conversation With” will feature Dan Rather on Saturday, October 10th at 2 p.m. at Bay Street Theater. Newly elected HIFF Co-Chairman and longtime Board Member Alec Baldwin will lead the discussion. This year’s Opening Night Film, James Vanderbilt’s “Truth,” is an interesting look at the controversial CBS “60 Minutes” examination of George W. Bush’s military record, which ended Rather’s tenure as the network’s anchorman. The film stars Robert Redford, Cate Blanchett, Elisabeth Moss, and Topher Grace.
Oscar-winning documentarian Michael Moore’s “Where to Invade Next” is one of the 2015 HIFF Spotlight Films. Moore will take part in “A Conversation With” on Sunday, October 11th, at 12 p.m. at Bay Street Theater. In the director’s latest film, Moore, equipped with a camera and a flag, “invades” several European countries in the hopes of finding out more about their prosperous methods and programs. From Norwegian prisons to female-run Icelandic banks, to Italian employee benefits, Moore explores the world with the goal of spreading these enlightened philosophies throughout the States.

Actress Emily Blunt, who will be honored along with Killer Films, Albert Maysles, and outgoing HIFF Chairman Stuart Match Suna during the inaugural HIFF Awards Dinner, will close out the Festival’s “A Conversation With” on Sunday, October 11th at 2 p.m. at Bay Street Theater. The 2005 HIFF Rising Stars [now Ten Actors to Watch] honoree has a tremendously impressive resume that includes roles in a variety of genres. The versatile actress has appeared in “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Charlie Wilson’s War,” “Gulliver’s Travels,” “The Adjustment Bureau,” “Edge of Tomorrow,” “Into the Woods,” “Sicario,” and many more.
The Hamptons International Film Festival will take place Thursday, October 8th through Monday, October 12th.
