Each year, the Sag Harbor Masonic Lodge awards two Pierson High School graduates with college scholarships worth several hundred dollars, and that’s just one of the notable contributions the organization makes to the local community. They also support East End youth by sending an interested candidate to Camp Turk, a summer camp in the Adirondacks.
This year’s recipient, Maya Buckner, plans on using the scholarship for a college essential, and was so inspired by the donation that she plans on paying it forward. “Thank you so much for your extremely generous gift,” shared Buckner. “As I start my freshman year at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, I will endeavor to continue to engage in community outreach when possible and I promise you that your gift will go to good use and help me acquire the books and supplies I need.”
To assist with their fundraising endeavors, the Sag Harbor Masonic Lodge is raffling off a custom built 15′ Kayak (skin on frame traditional design), which was made and donated by lodge brother Anthony Lombardo.
Tickets are $5 per raffle or $25 for six raffles and the drawing will be held on Saturday, September 26th.
Raffle tickets are currently on sale at the Sag Harbor Yacht Yard Ships Store (53 Bay Street, Sag Harbor). For tickets or more information, call Robert at 631-725-2458.
