Starting Sunday, July 26th through Sunday, August 9th, Galerie Mallory of Shelter Island is holding a birdhouse exhibition and auction, with proceeds benefiting Peconic Land Trust’s conservation efforts.
“This project combines two of my favorite passions – working with artists and land conservation,” Mallory Samson, of Galerie Mallory of Shelter Island, said. “I’m looking forward to seeing the wonderful artistry and talking with visitors about the work and the benefits of land conservation in our communities.”
Featured artists include Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan, Casey Chalem Anderson, Lois Bender, Jackie Black, Kiki Boucher and Robin Drake, EJ Camp, Scott Chaskey, Susan D’Alessio, James DeMartis, Marie Eiffel and Jason Penney, Margaret Garrett, Bonnie Grice, John v.H. Halsey, Sylvia Hommert, Randy Kolhoff, Cynthia Matthai, Scott Murphy, Gabrielle Raacke, Gordian Raacke, David Rankin, Anna Salsedo, Robert Waife, Michael Weisman, Cynthia Wells, Rhea White and Steve Schappacher, James Wojcek, and a few special surprises.
“Thank you to Mallory and to all the artists for their support of conservation and the Peconic Land Trust,” Pam Greene, Vice President of Peconic Land Trust said. “We are excited to be here on Shelter Island and to see all the creative ideas the artists have planned for the birdhouses.”
An Opening Reception will take place on Sunday, July 26th from 4 to 6 p.m. and a Closing Reception will take place on Sunday, August 9th from 4 to 6 p.m. The Silent Auction will close on Sunday, August 9th at 5:45 p.m.
The Peconic Land Trust is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1983 and its mission is to preserve Long Island’s working farms, natural lands and heritage.
