Bay Street Theater will hold its 24th annual Summer Gala on Saturday, July 11th at the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor. The summer soiree is Bay Street’s biggest fundraiser of the year and proceeds benefit the Sag Harbor-based organization’s educational and theatrical programs.

This year, the event will kickoff with a VIP cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by a concert, awards presentation and dinner, prepared by Sterling Affairs.
Bay Street Theater has teamed up with Dreamworks Theatricals to present a premiere concert reading of the first act of “The Prince of Egypt,” the new stage adaptation from the book by Philip LaZebnik, with music by Stephen Schwartz. The cast will include Matthew James Thomas as Moses, Aaron Lazar as Ramses, Tony Award winner Patina Miller as Tzipporah, Norm Lewis as Jethro, Stephen Bogardus as Seti, Julia Murney as Queen Tuya, Kyle Barisich as Aaron, John Treacy Egan as Hoy, Ryan Knowles as Hotep, Joanna Howard as Nefertari, Julia Motyka as Miriam, and Anna Schiavoni as Young Miriam. Schwartz has also composed well-known plays like “Pippin” and “Wicked.”
The evening will pay tribute to Tim Bishop, former representative for New York’s 1st congressional district, and Joe Pintauro, a noted playwright, poet and novelist. Joy Behar, comedian, writer, actress and co-host of the ABC’s “The View,” will serve as honorary chair member.

The Summer Gala will also feature a silent and live auction with Richard Kind, who recently voiced the character Bing Bong in Disney Pixar’s “Inside Out.” Auction items will include a week at the beach in St. Bart’s at a luxury WIMCO villa, a cocktail party at your home catered by Sterling Affair and dinner and two tickets to the hottest new musical on Broadway, “Hamilton.”
General admission is $600 and $425 for attendees 40-years-old and younger.
