David Bromberg Quintet To Perform At Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center

The David Bromberg Quintet will take the stage at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center (WHBPAC) on Saturday, June 13th at 8 p.m.

Renowned as a session “guitar man of the stars,” a solo performer and a bandleader of genre-breaking outfits, multi-string instrumentalist virtuoso David Bromberg will grace the intimate Westhampton Beach theater backed by his stellar quintet. His material is rooted in the folk and blues idioms, but transcends easy classification to embrace bluegrass, ragtime, country and more.

The June performance comes less than a year after the quintet’s September release of “Only Slightly Mad,” a return to Bromberg’s genre-bending albums of the seventies and eighties. Fans will find blues, bluegrass, gospel, folk, Irish fiddle tunes, pop and English drinking songs happily coexisting, as they can only on a Bromberg album. For newcomers, “Only Slightly Mad” will be an introduction to an astonishing performer, whose range and musical depth have delighted devoted audiences for over forty years.

The quintet consists of David Bromberg on guitar, vocals, mandolin and the fiddle; Mark Cosgrove on guitar, mandolin, and vocals; Robert ‘Butch’ Amoit on bass and vocals; Nate Grower on fiddle, guitar, mandolin and vocals; and Josh Kanusky on drums and vocals.
