Garden Of Eve Organic Farm & Market Holding 11th Annual Long Island Garlic Festival

This weekend, Garden Of Eve Organic Farm & Market is holding the 11th Annual Long Island Garlic Festival. The festivities will take place on Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21, 2014, and is the only garlic festival held on Long Island. The weekend will feature garlic-inspired foods, Long Island wine, local and organic agriculture, a craft marketplace, farm tours, family activities and lots and lots of garlic to buy for eating or planting.

Here’s the schedule of activities:


Saturday, September 20th:

10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Warren McKnight Banjo on the Entertainment Stage
11 a.m. “Easy Garlic Dishes: Making Garlic Naan” with the Poor Couple’s Food Guide under the Event Tent
12 to 3 p.m. Long Island Bluegrass Quartet on the Entertainment Stage
12:30 p.m. Junior Garlic Iron Chef Competition under the Event Tent
1:30 p.m. “Making Spanish Rice” with Vivian from Tainos Sofrito & Mojo under the Event Tent
2:30 p.m. “How to Grow Garlic” workshop with Phil from Biophilia Organic Farm under the Event Tent
3 to 6 p.m. Buddy Merriam & the Backroads on the Entertainment Stage
3:30 p.m. Garlic Eating Contest under the Event Tent


Sunday, September 21st:

10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Red River Ramblers on the Entertainment Stage
11 a.m. “Easy Garlic Dishes: Making Garlic Naan” with the Poor Couple’s Food Guide under the Event Tent
12 to 2:45 p.m. Buddy Merriam & the Backroads on the Entertainment Stage
12:30 p.m. Junior Garlic Iron Chef Competition under the Event Tent
1:30 p.m. “Making Spanish Rice” with Vivian from Tainos Sofrito & Mojo under the Event Tent
2:15 p.m. “Easy Dips” Cooking Demo with Sweet Melissa under the Event Tent
3 to 4:30 p.m. Free Grass Union on the Entertainment Stage
3:30 p.m. Garlic Eating Contest under the Event Tent
4 p.m. “How to Grow Garlic” workshop with Phil from Biophilia Organic Farm under the Event Tent

On both days, hayrides will be available every half hour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and pony rides will be available from 12 to 3 p.m. in the Play Area, weather permitting.

Admission is $3 per person and children under 6 are free.
