The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) is honoring notable names from the worlds of cuisine, fashion and philanthropy during its Tenth Anniversary of “A Hamptons Happening.” The benefit will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2014, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the Bridgehampton home of Maria and Kenneth Fishel. The event will pay tribute to celebrity chef David Burke, iconic fashion designer Betsey Johnson, and philanthropist Paul Ridley, co-founder of the cancer research nonprofit, Row For Hope. WCBS-TV Channel 2 News Anchor Chris Wragge will emcee the event for the third year in a row.

“We’re excited to recognize such a distinguished group of honorees at ‘A Hamptons Happening’,” said Samuel Waxman, MD, founder and CEO of Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation. “All of them are leading figures in their respective industries and we thank them for their support for this important fundraiser.”
“A Hamptons Happening” will be chaired by SWCRF co-founders Marion Waxman and Laurie Schaffran as well as Jennifer Gould Keil and Bobby and Jill Zarin. Proceeds from the event support the Foundation’s funding of research projects by principal cancer scientists, who cooperate and try to recognize and correct abnormal gene functions that cause cancer, and increase minimally toxic treatments for patients.
Guests will enjoy a tasty celebration of New York’s finest cuisine that will be personally presented by the top chefs of some of the most celebrated restaurants in New York City and the Hamptons. Attendees will satiate their appetites for both savory and sweet, mix and mingle, bid on valuable auction items and dance to today’s most popular summer songs, all while acting as a team to fund science’s quest for a cure for cancer.
“A Hamptons Happening” will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2014, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the Bridgehampton home of Maria and Kenneth Fishel. Tickets are $300 and $175 for Millennial Tickets (30 years old and under).
