On Thursday, July 24, 2014, East End artists, musicians, and writers are coming together for the Arts Against Addiction benefit art show at Ashawagh Hall in East Hampton. Proceeds will benefit QTherapy Institute, an online counseling center dedicated to providing treatment to suffering individuals who otherwise couldn’t afford it. The fundraiser will also allocate additional funds for a new East Hampton non-profit to provide young artists with materials and supplies.
QTherapy provides personalized counseling to those in need through Skype and phone calls. “I regularly get calls from families and individuals who have lost all hope,” said Founder of QTherapy and Arts Afainst Addiction, Spero Alexio. “I do inventive, non-traditional treatments for people who don’t respond well to rehabs and 12 step programs. Every client requires a unique approach based on who they are, not based on being an addict.”
The fundraiser will feature free non-alcoholic beverages and hors d’ oeuvres by Kristi Hood of Springs General Store, dessert and coffee by Art of Eating Caterers, music by DJ John Lockwood and The Dick Johansson Band, a raffle with “curious” items and a silent auction with pieces over 40 featured artists.
A free public viewing of the show will be held from 12 to 3 p.m. and the fundraiser begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $32.
Ashawagh Hall is located at 780 Springs Fireplace Road in East Hampton. For more information, visit www.qtherapy.co.
