The Hampton Ballet Theatre School is commemorating seven years of dance in the Hamptons with two performances of “Peter and the Wolf.” The shows feature classical dance, live music by The Hampton Festival Orchestra and a “celebrity” narrator. Performances will take place on Tuesday, August 5, at 6 p.m. at the Children’s Museum of the East End (376 Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton, 631-537-8250, cmee.org) and Thursday, August 7, at 7 p.m. at the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation (240 Edgemere Street, Montauk, 631-668-1124, www.montaukplayhouse.org).
Sara Jo Strickland, Director of Hampton Ballet Theatre School, choreographed the charming ballet performance, which showcases beautiful, intricate handmade costumes by Yuka Silvera. Students of the Hampton Ballet Theatre School, who range from ages 4 to 18 years old, will showoff all their hardwork during Sergei Prokofiev’s renowned score. Dr. Andrew Perea will conduct the Hampton Festival Orchestra, a 25-piece band of gifted professional musicians from the East End.
Tickets are $15 for members, $17 for non-members or $20 at the door. To reserve tickets in advance, call the Children’s Museum of the East End or Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation.
