If you find yourself in the Hamptons tired of waiting in long grocery lines at Citarella, disagreeing with Ina Garten’s mantra of “how easy is that!” after your soufflé has spontaneously combusted, and wiping down the counters after your three year old abandoned his fork, we have a list specifically for you. Here are our 10 favorite restaurants in Southampton. Bring the children or don’t, it’s your choice.

If you live in the city and join us for the weekends, you have definitely heard of Delmonico’s (268 Elm Street, Southampton, 631-283-0202, www.delmonicosrestaurantgroup.com/southampton), one of the best steak houses in the city. Stop in this summer to celebrate their second summer in Southampton and indulge in mouth-watering steak and out-of-this-world red wine.

Sometimes, all we want is an Italian mother’s cooking. If you don’t have access to it, I’m so sorry for you. The next best thing is Il Capuccino (30 Madison Street, Sag Harbor, 631-725-2747, www.ilcaps.com) in Sag Harbor. The menu features northern Italian cuisine with recipes from the owner’s, Jack Achille Tagliasacchi, hometown.

Nestled on the beginning of Jobs Lane adjacent to Agawam Park, Little Red (76 C Jobs Lane, Southampton, 631-283-3309, www.littleredsouthampton.com) is delicious and casual. We recommend the tuna tartar and the homemade potato chips, although maybe not together. If you live in the village, the best part is that it’s in walking distance, so enjoy a cocktail and take a family stroll.

For delicious food and some of the best people watching in the Hamptons, dine at Southampton Social Club (256 Elm Street, Southampton, 631-287-1400, www.southamptonsocialclub.com). We suggest you try the sesame-crusted tuna appetizer, and don’t dare say you went unless you had the decadent social club doughnuts with raspberry coulis.

In the mood for a night of carbs? Make a reservation at Tuscan House (10 Windmill Lane, Southampton, 631-287-8703, www.tuscanhouse.us). With walls of windows that open up for a beautiful evening breeze, you can enjoy incredible pasta and wine while watching the sunset over Agawam Park.

If you’re craving lobster (let’s face it, aren’t we always craving lobster?), venture out to Sag Harbor and dig in to delicious seafood and amazing cocktails at Muse in The Harbor (16 Main Street, Sag Harbor, 631-899-4810, www.museintheharbor.com). If seafood isn’t your favorite, you too can die and go to heaven with delicious dishes like “Not Ya Mamma’s Meatballs” and “The Three Little Pigs.”

We always knew bacon could be its own appetizer. We just hadn’t found anyone who publicly professed that opinion, until now. BLT Steakhouse at Capri (281 Country Road 39A Route 27, Southampton, 631-504-6575, www.caprisouthampton.com) is new to Southampton opening just last year, but we have a feeling they will fit in just fine. BLT Steak keeps fan favorites like the famed popovers, tuna tartare, and chopped vegetable salad on its menu in the new location. Sit indoors or out, it doesn’t matter because the cuisine (and the bacon) is just as good.

For some delicious sushi and sashimi, make the short drive to Suki Zuki (688 Montauk Highway, Watermill, 631-726-4600). The staff is warm and friendly, and the Japanese food is some of the best on the East End.

If you embrace the life of a health nut by doing sunrise paddleboard yoga and consuming gallons of blended kale and spinach per week, you will love Fresh Hamptons (203 Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton, 631-537-4700, www.freshhamptons.com). If you take the dog for a walk once a week and consider it a workout, you will still love it. Fresh Hamptons’ menu is inspired by delicious healthy food and prana. Those involved in the yoga will know it means life force. Those who walked the dog on Tuesday, now you know.

If your family and you are craving a delicious burger in a place with a retro vibe, stop by LT Burger (62 Main Street, Sag Harbor, 631-899-4646, www.ltburger.com). The burgers, fries, and shakes are amazing. Adults cannot say they’ve been unless they’ve tried the R rated shakes.
