It was off to the races at the inaugural Southampton Youth Services (SYS) Spring Bash “Run for the Roses” on Saturday, May 3. Attendees caught the Kentucky Derby on the jumbotron while sipping on traditional Mint Juleps and enjoying lite bites from Thyme and Again.
“SYS had a fantastic committee for this inaugural event who put it all together and made it a success on so many levels,” says Southampton Youth Services Marketing Director Sharon O. Wood. “We are so honored by the community support, with over 60 donations both financially and in-kind services and donations.”

Following “The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports,” guests placed their bets for SYS’s own derby at the Peter Barylski Jockey Club. A roll of the dice and horses sponsored by Summerhill Lanscapes, Cook, Maran & Associates, En Consultants, Twin Forks Moving & Storage, The Press News Group, and Jacob Antilety Landscaping Inc. made their move towards the finish line. Keeping in line with the Southern theme, the evening also included line dancing.
