Beer drinkers get ready to chug for a good cause. Hamptons not-for-profit Paddlers for Humanity (P4H) is throwing the inaugural Montauk Brewathalon on Sunday, October 20.
The five legged race starts at Montauk Brewing Company (62 South Erie Avenue, Montauk, 631-668-8471, www.montaukbrewingco.com) at 1 p.m. Each team must have a starting chugger, a 1.5-mile paddler, a 5K runner, a 25K biker and an ending chugger. Groups must also have at least one female participant and chuggers may not compete in the run, paddle or bike leg. The top three will receive a prize.
To participate, groups must raise a $250 fee which includes a race shirt, beer tasting, and pint glass. Teams who raise $500 or more are considered event sponsors, and will receive a race shirt with the sponsor or company’s name, promotion on P4H’s Facebook page and website, beer tasting and a pint glass. Sponsorships must be received by October 1st.
Proceeds from the Montauk Brewathalon will be donated to various East End organizations focused on improving the lives of children and youth.
