Has spending the past year stuck at home inspired a home makeover? If you’re still looking for a few unique pieces to spruce up your abode’s decor don’t miss the Southold Historical Society’s Silent Auction featuring an array of art, collectables, jewelry, and food and wine packages.
“We hope the community will see this as a way to do some shopping while also supporting their local history museum,” said Deanna Witte-Walker, Southold Historical Society Executive Director.

The online auction will launch on Saturday, May 1 at 9:00 a.m. and bidding will be open through Saturday, May 15 at 5:00 p.m. There will be a plethora of treasures and treats up for grabs, ranging from a painting by noted local artist Madeline Brasserear to prints by S. Neil Fujita and Rich Fiedler to a Tiffany cafe knife to a one-of-a-kind squash blossom necklace to an autographed postcard and written musical musing of Edwin Fischer – and much more. If food and wine are more your thing, there will be a Dine Around Town package, highlighting Legends, North Fork Table & Inn, The Village Cheese Shop, and Front Street Station, a trio of herb pots, a spirits package with Tito’s, Johnnie Walker, and Ralph Lauren Polo collectible glasses, and a Pellegrini Vineyards Private VIP Tour and Barrel Tasting.
All proceeds from the online auction will support the Southold Historical Society, whose mission is to “promote interest in and education about the history of Southold and to bring together those persons who desire to discover, acquire, preserve, maintain, and exhibit historic sites, buildings, and relics.”
“Plus, who doesn’t love an auction? Being the winning bidder is such an exciting and satisfying feeling!” Witte-Walker added.
In addition to the online auction, Southold Historical Society is hosting a duo of Wine by the Vines on Thursday, May 13 and Thursday, June 10 at 5:00 p.m. Attendees will enjoy wines, gourmet sandwiches, and petite sweets in a socially distance setting at Pellegrini Vineyards in Cutchogue.
