An assemblage of East End craftspeople and entrepreneurs will be highlighted during Ecological Culture Initiative’s (ECI) inaugural Holiday Makers Market. Held on the grounds of the St. Joseph Villa in Hampton Bays, the shopping extravaganza will offer two weekends to shop local and find unique, one of a kind gifts for friends and loved ones.
“We are excited to inaugurate a holiday market right here in Hampton Bays, where folks can get most of their holiday shopping accomplished in one fun outing, and support local artisans at the same time,” Karen Loew, Ecological Culture Initiative Director of Communications & Outreach, noted.
There will be an array of artisanal, handcrafted goods available for purchase – such as photography, art, gourmet foods, baked goods and sweets, clothing, jewelry, accessories and more. The Holiday Makers Market will boast 15 to 20 vendors, including Aki’s Kitchen (soups and salads), Ecological Culture Initiative (tote bags and shirts), Green Door Woodworks (cutting boards and signs), Inspired Simple Syrup (syrups), KatKreated (wind chimes and jewelry), Matthew Raynor Photography (nautical, aerial, and travel photography), MB Pearls (pearl necklaces), Serious Chocolate (chocolates), Silk and Sea Designs (jewelry, scarves, and masks), Sweet Woodland Farm (herbs and herbal products), The Granola Plant (granola) and many more.
“Community and sustainability are two of ECI’s core values,” Loew shared. “These are reflected in the market, whether it’s the beautiful games, cutting boards and wall hangings that Green Door Woodworks makes from salvaged wood, or the teas and salves that Sweet Woodland Farm makes from organically grown herbs.”
Proceeds from ECI’s Holiday Makers Market support the Good Ground Heritage Garden at St. Joseph Villa. The majority of food grown at the garden is donated to Hampton Bays food pantries.
“It’s meaningful to buy handmade, high-quality, affordably priced items from our talented neighbors,” Loew concluded.
ECI’s Holiday Makers Market will take place on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6, as well as Friday, December 11, Saturday, December 12 and Sunday, December 13. The market will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
