If belting out a tune always brings you joy, you’re not going to want to miss Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts’ new virtual program.
On Friday, March 27, Bay Street will host the debut of Sip ‘n’ Sing virtual sing-along, which is part of the new Bay Street To-Go. East End cabaret artist and singer Valerie diLorenzo will lead the live stream series, which will be broadcast via Zoom.
“Bay Street To-Go, Bay Street’s virtual entertainment and education program, is an all new online platform that provides engaging live theater experiences for our audience and patrons, at a time when in-person programming just isn’t an option. We are excited to bring our community this creative outlet in the form of Facebook streams, virtual sing-alongs on Zoom, or online education classes,” Michael Pintauro, Bay Street Marketing Coordinator, said. “While we continue to respect quarantines and mandatory lockdowns, we are eager to be able to explore this new online platform, and hope to keep it as a programming option at Bay Street Theater even when we’re all able to gather together again under one roof.”
“When Tracy Mitchell (Bay Street Theater Executive Director) asks you to help keep the community engaged and entertained, you heed that call! In this unprecedented time in our world, the East End community (like the rest of the world) is in unchartered waters on many levels,” diLorenzo explained. “And for live performers like me, to suddenly go ‘virtual,’ well, there is a learning curve but all of that will work itself out, thanks to Michael Pintauro and the enthusiastic Bay Street staff.”
diLorenzo, who resides in Sag Harbor, is a professional singer and actress. She has been fêted with numerous awards for her one-woman cabaret shows in New York City, which were said to be “… a seamless venture of magic in the making” by The New York Times. She has showcased her talents across the East Coast, as well as locally at many East End venues. The card-carrying member of the Actors Equity Association has starred as Rose in Gypsy, Mrs. Johnstone in Bloodbrothers, Sheila in A Chorus Line, Nancy in Oliver!, and Miss Hannigan in Annie.
“Viewers can expect a variety of tunes – Broadway, pop, standards – in this inaugural Virtual Cabaret and Sing-along,” diLorenzo revealed.

“This is a time to lift our spirits – if people want to sing and I can make that happen, all I can say is when do we start? And the answer is – Fridays at 5, starting tomorrow – register now at www.baystreet.org,” diLorenzo added.
Additionally, Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts will present a new Online Children’s Theater Camp with Bay Street’s Director of Education, Allen O’Reilly that will also be broadcast via Zoom.
